The New York Angels is one of the longest running active angel groups in New York City and has invested over $45 million in entrepreneurial ventures. The group is an independent consortium of over 75 individual accredited angel investors. The New York Angels typically invest $100,000-$1,000,000 in seed/early stage companies, and syndicate deals with angel group partners and VC’s up to $2 million. Because of the vast experience of the membership, the group is receptive to a wide variety of industry sectors. The strength of the group is its ability to pool its money to make large investments, to mentor entrepreneurs to help them achieve their goals, and to make introductions that can accelerate growth.
New York Angels is not a fund and does not invest as a group. Our members collaborate on due diligence but make individual investment decisions. Each member makes their own thorough review of all information, including speaking with representatives of the company.
New York Angels is a New York State Non Stock Corporation whose primary business offices are located in New York City, and is managed by a small professional staff supervised by a Board of Directors elected by the membership.

Mark H. Schneider has been an angel investor since 1999, and currently serves as a Board member of both NY Angels and Angel Investor Forum in Connecticut. His investments span a wide range of interests including health information systems, new media, infrastructure software, web-enabled business services, greentech and industrial products. Mark serves on the board of Innroad, Inc., a SAAS (Software as a Service) company for hotel management (www.innroad.com). For many years (since 1982) his day job was as founder and CEO, and then non-operating Chairman of a group of software companies which provided software, systems, and transaction services to the pharmaceutical fulfillment industry(*). After a series of acquisitions and mergers, that company announced two liquidity events in 2006 and 2007. One division was sold to a public company, the other division to a private equity firm. Mark’s earlier experience included Director of Planning for a publicly held computer consulting firm; and Manager of Strategic Planning for a division of PepsiCo, Inc. Mark holds a Master’s degree from the MIT/Sloan School of Management (1978) as well as a Master’s degree in Engineering from MIT (1977) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University (1976).
