We make seed and early-stage investments in businesses targeting high-growth emerging mass markets. We are active investors, generally write a company's first term sheet as the lead investor, and partner with entrepreneurs who have the energy, vision, experience and passion to build great companies and help them succeed through hands-on team building, partnerships, advice and support.
Our firm began 12 years ago as Draper Atlantic and DFJ New England, two affiliates of the Draper Fisher Jurvetson network that worked closely together since inception. From 1999 to 2006, Draper Atlantic and DFJ New England invested $180 million in 59 companies with investment returns in the top ten percent of all venture funds. The firms joined forces in 2006 to create New Atlantic Ventures, a venture capital firm with a past and present portfolio of companies that generated over $600 million of revenue in 2008 and employed thousands of people worldwide with our funds achieving top decile financial performance as a result.

Thanasis is an experienced investor and advisor to growth companies. He has a strong 12 year track record of coaching managers on growing technology companies. Since joining New Atlantic in 2000 he has invested, advised or served on the boards of a dozen portfolio companies, including Mobile365, DivX and GlobalLogic. Prior to joining New Atlantic, he led investment banking for Thermo Electron Corp. (currently Thermo Fisher), a $4 billion global advanced technology company serving the life sciences and measurement and control markets. Over the years Thermo Electron had incubated dozens of early-stage technology ideas that became large businesses. During his tenure, he managed public and private market transactions totaling $900 million and advised on corporate structure and financial strategies for 20 public subsidiaries and many early-stage private subsidiaries. In addition, Thanasis has served as a senior executive in early-stage companies and also worked for McKinsey & Co. in Washington, D.C. as a business strategy consultant for management at Fortune 500 companies.

memory in logic devices. Nantero is working with several major IC companies to develop its technology as the future basis of flash memories. |
