Shaw Management Advisors LLC (SMAI) was established to fill a major need to provide senior management, Directors, and investors with experienced business management, business development, financial, HR, and marketing/sales services.
SMAI works with CEO’s, Boards of Directors, Venture Capital and Private Equity Firms, and Early Stage and Potential investors
Our firm’s principals have decades of successful ‘C’ Level positions, Venture Capital, Interim Management, Financing and Strategic Services experience, and along with its network of specialists that is ready to serve a broad array of technology, product, and services businesses, in the US, Europe, and Asia.
SMAI can also help extend the reach and functionality of institutional investors by sourcing, vetting, and managing prospective and existing portfolio companies.
Although our goal is to be the leading business and venture services provider in Southern California, we also have high level of expertise in helping non-California companies (US and foreign) establish themselves in the US and developing International strategies for client companies.
Assignments are accepted with small to medium size companies that have already launched product or service and have customers and revenue

Peter Shaw is a Principal in Shaw Management Advisors, Int’l LLC, (SMAI) a San Diego based international advisory firm that provides services for Senior Management, Boards, Venture Capitalists and Entrepreneurs. Mr. Shaw is also involved as an angel investor or as an advisor for a number of early stage companies in the technology, life sciences, healthcare, and hospitality industries and serves as a Director for a number of his clients.
Currently, Mr. Shaw is also a senior advisor to Barona Valley Ranch and Casino, San Diego’s premier Las Vegas style casino and resort where he is involved in both advanced technology and day to day operational issues, strategic marketing, and a member of Barona’s web based initiatives.
Mr. Shaw has also worked with and advised leading venture capital firms on the restructuring of numerous portfolio companies. He is currently a limited partner in two Southern California base funds and is involved in the formation of a new technology and life science venture fund.
Mr. Shaw is a past president of the San Diego Venture Group (SDVG) and currently serves on its Board.. He also serves on the board of directors of San Diego’s CONNECT organization where he is Chairman of their Venture Round Table and also on the Capital Formation Committee of Cleantech San Diego.
Mr. Shaw is also active with San Diego State University’s Entrepreneurial Management Program where he serves as a mentor and advisor for a number of students (undergraduate and Graduate) looking to further their entrepreneurial aspirations. He also volunteers at UCSD’s Rady School of Management. He is a frequent speaker and panelist at various industry events
Previously Mr. Shaw served as a Venture Partner for San Diego-based Windward Ventures and as a senior advisor for Venture Catalyst (OTC BB:VCAT.OB).
Mr. Shaw holds a bachelor of bachelor’s degree in engineering (BSEE) from City College of New York and a master of business administration degree from the University of Connecticut.
