ABG Capital has been in business since 1992 in some form or another. We’ve grown from a tiny Mom and Pop company that designed and built databases into a multifaceted technology firm that has been named one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine.
While our name has changed and we’ve adapted our products and services, our foundation as a close-knit family business remains. Owned primarily by Brothers Jeff and Jason Tapolci, ABG Capital’s culture still reflects the personality of their late father, Gerard, the company’s founder.
ABG Capital is annually honored as one of the 100 Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania thanks to a focus on people and a culture that allows them to thrive. Our staff, made up of self-motivated individuals with a passion for their work and an uncanny ability to adapt and innovate, has made our business what it is today. The corporate home of ABG Capital is situated on a hilltop ten minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport and our rejuvenated downtown area. Housed in a modern low-rise building in an upscale suburban office park dotted with fountains and ponds and surrounded by woods, our location is a microcosm of our region’s scenic landscape.
Despite our formal corporate protocol, methodical management discipline and affluent outward appearance, ABG Capital remains at its heart a humble, hard-working second generation family business.

Ron Eggert

As a key decision-maker, Ron is responsible for striking a balance between maintaining current profitability and investing in future products and services. His ability to strike this balance has led ABG Capital to a recent growth pattern.
Ron is an exemplary president, bringing discipline, efficiency, experience, and critical thinking skills. He’s involved in every step of investment decision-making – from identifying potential entrepreneurs to closing deals. Ron created a unique funding model for ABG Capital, separating it from other Pittsburgh investors.
Before joining ABG Capital in 2006, Ron’s career history included both public accounting and financial consulting. After obtaining a B.A. in Accounting from Robert Morris University, he worked for Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young until 2001. From there, he gained invaluable experience at start-up company InterScope Technologies, serving as their CFO.
Always more than a spectator, Ron enjoys flying model airplanes, participating in politics, and playing sports.
