The Phenomenelle Angels Fund I, LP invests in exceptional management teams and breakthrough technologies that have the promise to create new market opportunities. Our focus is on women owned or managed, and minority owned or managed seed and early stage growth businesses in the Information Technology (IT), BioTech/Life Sciences, CleanTech, Consumer Goods/Services, and Communications industries located in Wisconsin and the Midwest.
We are most interested in very fast growing emerging markets, where we can invest in a company that can achieve dominance of its niche by applying breakthrough technology. We are also interested in new products and services that address very large existing markets where we can invest in companies that are taking market share away from established players through disruptive innovation. We seek products/services differentiated by defensible intellectual property, knowhow and branding. We look for experienced management teams with deep domain expertise and at least one member of the Executive Team or Board of Directors who has previously built a successful business in the same industry. We invest where our formative assistance in building business infrastructure, management teams, and boards is welcome.

Lauren is a co-founder and Managing Director of the Phenomenelle Angels Fund I, LP. She brings 25 years experience in founding and operating early stage companies to the Fund. Lauren is focused on selecting prospective investments, leading due diligence, and working closely with portfolio company CEOs to help them achieve superior board governance, grow their businesses and craft lucrative exits.
Lauren also serves as CEO of SCIO Corp, which provides strategic advisory services to emerging companies in the IT, BioTech and CleanTech sectors. Previous to founding SCIO Corp, Lauren co-founded and was CEO of WebWare Corporation, a pioneer in Digital Asset Management and one of the first SaaS (Software as a Service) companies. She raised over $20 million in equity capital for WebWare, which was later acquired by a publicly traded company. During her 15 years of entrepreneurial experience prior to WebWare, she co-founded three technology companies and provided strategic consulting services to industry leaders such as Apple, HP, IBM, Microsoft, NeXT, Oracle, and Xerox.
A Springboard finalist in SV 2000, Lauren received Trailblazer Awards in 2000 and 2001 from the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. She was also awarded IT Software CEO of the Year for 2002 by leading analyst firm, Frost and Sullivan. BusinessWeek selected her as one of the Top 25 Angels in Tech in 2010.
Lauren is Chairman of the Board at HarQen Inc; serves on the Boards of Directors of Springboard Enterprises and Michelle’s Miracle Inc; and is a Board observer to EraGen BioSciences Inc. Lauren also serves on the Angel Capital Association's Syndication Committee. During her 10 year association with Springboard, she has been a significant contributor to the team that helped 400+ women-led companies raise $5 billion in equity. 7 of the Springboard companies have gone public. Many more have generated high value returns for their investors. 85% of the companies are still in business or continuing operations after being acquired. These 400 companies have generated $4 billion in revenues and created over 10,000 jobs. Springboard's record is unmatched by any other venture catalyst organization.

HarQen is a web telephony company that leverages its voice to web audio technology and social networking platform to develop smart, easy-to-use business applications that solve real world problems. From a consumer standpoint, using HarQen’s technology is as easy as leaving a voicemail. The company's first two products are VoiceScreener and Comic Wonder. Milwaukee-based HarQen's Round One and bridge financing rounds were led by the Phenomenelle Angel Fund, with participation by Wisconsin Investment Partners and Women Angels. |

Stemina Biomarker Discovery discovers and validates small molecules as biomarkers for high-throughput drug screening and disease diagnostics using an all human system comprised of stem cells and the Company's proprietary metabolomics platform. Metabolomics enables the discovery of small molecules that can be used as candidate biomarkers of disease and pharmacological efficacy or toxicity. The human embryonic stem cell metabolome is a source of candidate biomarkers to predict, diagnose or measure the progress of disease or toxic response. Stemina provides compound screening and diagnostic development for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and academia under contract services or joint discovery agreements. Stemina is based in Madison, WI. Phenomenelle Angels Fund co-invested with Wisconsin Investment Partners and DaneVest Capital. |

The service electronically aggregates itemized receipts from participating merchants and presents them to consumers via the company's website and partner channels. MyReceipts™ reduces the need for physical receipts while helping retailers and consumers be more "green". |
