The $95 million Alexander Hutton Venture Partners fund was inaugurated in December 1999. Our venture fund builds on the strong performance of Alexander Hutton Capital, LLC, a regional investment-banking firm that has raised capital for technology start-ups since 1995. Tom Johnston Senior Vice President Alexander Hutton Venture Partners |
Tom Johnston is currently serving as Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing at NetMotion Wireless, an AHVP portfolio company.
He held several senior marketing positions with Microsoft Corporation between 1990 and 1998. As a group product manager for Microsoft, Tom led the team responsible for marketing the Windows desktop platform and Internet Explorer-including XML-to developers and Web professionals. Previously, he was lead program manager for Microsoft's Internet security product unit.
Tom also conducted business development for Microsoft's advanced consumer technology division, forging partnerships with wireless communication firms to enable two-way communication for handheld computing devices. He has also held product management roles for Windows NT and Microsoft's network business unit.
Tom has an A.B. in Mathematics and History from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Dartmouth's Amos Tuck School of Business.

Netupdate's software tools extend mission-critical business applications onto the Internet, moving lenders from expensive, slow, paper-based or legacy systems to efficient, integrated Web-based electronic transactions. |

Shiplogix provides a business-to-business Web-hosted transportation management system through a collaborative community for buyers and sellers of freight services. The company builds on its e-commerce solutions to configure a set of services tailored to customers' specific logistics requirements, enabling their global community members and supply chain participants to prepare, implement and resolve freight shipment transactions from dock-to-dock via air, ocean, rail and truck securely via the Internet.
