Easton Capital Investment Group manages approximately
$200 million on behalf of a number of significant institutional
investors in its three funds, Easton Capital Partners, L.P., Easton Hunt Capital Partners, L.P. and Easton Hunt New York LP. Easton makes investments ranging in size from $2 million to $7.5 million and has strategic co-investment relationships with many of its institutional investors which allow it to participate in larger initial and follow-on rounds of funding. Easton has offices in New York and Florida.

John H. Friedman is the Founding and Managing Partner of Easton Capital Group. Prior to founding Easton Capital, John was the founder and Managing General Partner of Security Pacific Capital Investors. Security Pacific Capital Investors was a $200-million private equity fund geared towards expansion financings and recapitalizations. Prior to joining Security Pacific, John was a Managing Director and Partner at E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co., Inc., where he spent eight and a half years. During his tenure, John was involved in Warburg's investments in Computerland, Tweeds, Babbages' and US Healthcare. Previously, John was an attorney with Sullivan and Cromwell. He holds a JD degree from Yale Law School and a BA degree, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Yale College. John currently serves on the Boards of Renovis, Trellis Bioscience, Cardiovascular Systems, Xoft, Genetix Pharmaceuticals, PlaySpan, and Sanarus. He is also co-chairman of the President's Council at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and serves as a Trustee of The New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter and the New York City Police Foundation.

Trellis Bioscience has developed a breakthrough technology for drug development, which allows the
direct assay of in vivo drug responses. This paradigm-shifting technology measures and analyzes protein translocation to determine whether critical protein pathways have been activated. It also provides novel drug targets. Easton led this round of financing together with Morgenthaler Ventures and Forward Ventures. |

Gentis, Inc. develops synthetic products that represent fundamental improvements for treating degenerated intervertebral discs of the spine and other musculoskeletal lesions. The Company's work since 2000 has led to far-reaching patent applications, especially with respect to its first spinal product. In the longer-term Gentis' broad technology platform also creates a product pipeline that will enable it to build an all-inclusive, world class Orthobiologics Company. Easton co-led an investment in Gentis in June 2007. Other investors in the Company include Pappas Ventures, Ivy Capital Partners and Matignon Technologies. |
