In 1996, we founded Altos Ventures to exclusively address the needs of promising, young entrepreneurs and technology companies. As entrepreneurs ourselves, we understand the challenges and issues that founders and new businesses face. We have worked with entrepreneurs for over a decade to build great ideas into great companies. We have the patience and staying power to partner with entrepreneurs to build market leading companies. From modest beginnings, Altos-backed companies have grown to more than $1 billion in revenue in the last several years. Altos manages over $200 million of institutional capital across several funds. Limited partners in Altos Ventures include leading endowment, fund-of-funds, financial and family office investors based in North America and Asia. We invest in all sectors of information technologies including application and infrastructure software, systems, services and components. Our initial investment can be as little as $100,000 and up to $7 million over the life of a company through successive rounds of funding. Because of our hands-on, individualized approach, we focus primarily on companies in California yet we may invest in other areas where our partners have particular expertise and relationships.

Brendon Kim

Brendon Kim is a General Partner and co-founder of Altos Ventures, focusing on investments in the areas of wireless communications and enterprise software. He currently serves as a director of Branders, New Vine Logistics, and Vapro. Brendon has also served as a director of Bluedot Software (acquired by Ambassadors International), Egreetings (EGRT, acquired by American Greetings) and Enwisen. Before joining Altos Ventures in 1996, Brendon was a management consultant at CSC Index. He led executive teams in strategy development, marketing, and re-engineering projects that resulted in dramatic revenue and productivity improvements. His clients included Fortune 500 companies in the telecommunications, media and healthcare industries. Before CSC Index, Brendon worked at Procter & Gamble and Coopers & Lybrand. Brendon is a founding director and former president of the Korean American Society of Entrepreneurs (KASE). He is also a former director and current advisor of the Korean IT Network (KIN). Brendon received an MBA from Stanford University and a BA from Princeton University.
