    Edison initially invests $3 - 5 million. We finance internal growth, management buyouts, acquisitions, corporate spinouts and secondary stock purchases.     Gary P. Golding, General Partner, has been a venture capitalist for 15 years. He has been responsible for the origination of 18 investments financed during that period and has served as a director of 13 companies. At Edison, Gary is a director of Vocus, ViaCast Networks, Liberty Tax Service, Digital Paper, Sentori and Tangoe. At Edison Venture Fund, Gary concentrates his investment activities on business-to-business software, communications technology, and electronics companies. He directs Edison's office in McLean, Virginia, and focuses on investment opportunities in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, and North Carolina.

    Before joining Edison in November 1997, Gary was with CEO Venture Fund, a firm launched in Pittsburgh by three successful technology entrepreneurs. He was General Partner and Chief Operating Officer of CEO Venture Fund II. Gary managed the firm's office in Vienna, Virginia, and made his first investment in this region in 1987. Gary previously served on the Advisory Boards of the George Washington University Graduate School of Business, the Governor's Venture Capital Roundtable for the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Entrepreneurial Advisory Council of the Pennsylvania Securities Commission, and was President of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association.

    Representative Investments
    Emerging Technologies Group Edison invested $3 million in Emerging Technologies Group (ETG). Gary Golding joins the board and Michael Helmicki serves as board observer. ETG provides Inter-Carrier Business Integligence solutions to the global telecommunications industry. Edison is the sole investor.
    Octagon Edison led a $3.8M investment in this expansion-stage pharma IT company. Larry Hollin joined the Board of Directors along with CEO Network member Teresa Winslow. The company provides clinical and regulatory-based services to the biopharmaceutical industry.
    Liberty Tax Service Edison Director: John Martinson. Edison Observer: Gary Golding. Income tax preparation service in the US and Canada through company-owned and franchised operations.
    Maptuit Edison led the second round funding of $6M. Draper Fisher Jurvetson New England, GATX/MM Venture Partners and company management also participated. Joe Allegra joined the Board. Maptuit is a provider of wireless routing, fuel and location alerts for the transportation industry.
