    John McCarty, Associate, Peachtree Equity Partners John McCarty,  Associate, Peachtree Equity Partners

    John joined Peachtree as an Associate in July 2004 and is responsible for originating, executing, and monitoring principal investment opportunities for the Partnership. Prior to joining Peachtree, John was an Associate with The Breckenridge Group, an Atlanta-based middle market mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, from 2002 to 2004. From 2000 to 2002, John was an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group with Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York. From 1999 to 2000, John was an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group with Banc of America Securities in New York. As an investment banker, John gained significant transaction execution experience across a variety of industries, completing numerous advisory and financing assignments representing over $5 billion in aggregate transaction values. A native of Atlanta, John received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

    Peter Hairston, President, New World Angels Peter Hairston, President, New World Angels

    Peter Hairston is an entrepreneurial financier with over 20 years of experience as advisor, executive and principal investor to early- and growth-stage ventures. Based in Coral Gables, FL, Mr. Hairston’s firm, New World Capital, is a growing provider of investment capital and advisory services to U.S. and Latin American businesses. Recent investments include Adventure Holdings and The Moorings, where Mr. Hairston and his group exited with a 10x return.

    Mr. Hairston also serves as President and Co-Founder of New World Angels, a private investment group (based in South Florida) whose mission is to provide funding and support for entrepreneurial businesses in Florida and the Southeast. In addition, Mr. Hairston is a special limited partner of Banyan Mezzanine Fund, which manages approximately $75 million for investment in middle market growth companies from its offices in Coral Gables, FL and Charleston, SC.

    Mr. Hairston began his business career in 1982, working in New York for Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb, Hambrecht & Quist, and the Citibank Leveraged Capital Group. He specialized for ten years in providing corporate finance, M&A, and strategic advisory services to clients ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to emerging growth companies.

    Mr. Hairston serves on various corporate boards, as well as the board of advisors for Florida International University’s Global Entrepreneurship Program and the Citizens Board for the University of Miami. Together with his wife of 21 years, he has two daughters aged 9 and 11.

    Mr. Hairston attended Stanford University, Davidson College (where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Economics), and the Advanced Management Program at Oxford University, England.

    Matthew E. Cole, Partner, North Bay Equity Partners Matthew E. Cole, Partner, North Bay Equity Partners

    Matthew Cole is a partner at North Bay Equity Partners, a financial advisory firm focused on private equity investments in Latin America. Prior to founding North Bay, Matt was the CEO of OneScope, a developer of international business-to-business internet marketplaces. Matt has also served as a Principal at Texas Pacific Group and as an Associate with J.P. Morgan & Co. Matt graduated from Brown University in 1992.

    Michael Greeley, Managing General Partner, IDG Ventures Michael Greeley, Managing General Partner, IDG Ventures

    Michael A. Greeley founded the IDG Ventures Boston office in September 2001 and serves as a Managing General Partner. Michael brings over 15 years of early and later-stage investment experience to IDG Ventures. Just prior to joining IDG Ventures, he was with Polaris Venture Partners, where he focused on both early and later stage financings for emerging growth companies. Prior to Polaris, Michael served for over five years as Senior Vice President and Founding Partner of GCC Investments, a successful $200 million private equity fund.

    Prior to GCC Investments, Michael was a Vice President and one of the early professionals at Wasserstein Perella & Co., an international merchant bank with a $1.0 billion private equity fund. During his five-year tenure, he gained experience in both domestic and international acquisitions, restructurings and management buyouts. Additionally, Michael was a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of Morgan Stanley & Co. and was associated with the Leveraged Buyout Group of Credit Suisse First Boston.

    Michael currently serves on the boards of BlueTarp, MicroCHIPS and Protein Forest. Additionally, he authors the “Nothing Ventured…” column in Bio-IT World magazine which explores developments at the intersection of the information technology and life sciences sectors. Previously, Michael has served on the Boards of a number of public and private companies including Global TeleSystems Group (NASDAQ: GTSG), El Sitio International (NASDAQ: LCTO), MotherNature.com (NASDAQ: MTHR), Crescent Communications (acquired by Clear Channel), Fleetcor Technologies, where he also served as interim CEO, and American Capital Access.

    Michael serves on the Board of Directors for the New England Venture Capital Association, is a member of the Executive Business Advisory Council for Mass General Hospital for Children, and trustee of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

    Michael received a BA with honors in Chemistry from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. While at Williams, Michael had a remarkably undistinguished career as a four-year varsity lacrosse player.
