    Craig Cognetti, Associate, Mellon Ventures Craig Cognetti, Associate, Mellon Ventures

    Craig Cognetti is an Associate having joined Mellon Ventures in December of 2002. He focuses on Financial and Business Services industries as well as Buyout opportunities.

    Prior to Mellon Ventures, Craig was an Assistant Vice-President in Mellon Financialís Corporate Strategy and Development group. During his tenure, he worked on corporate M&A activity, including the divestiture of Mellonís retail bank and the acquisitions of the Unifi Network, HBV Capital, and the separate account division of Ashland Management.

    Prior to Mellon, Craig was a Director at Transcontinental Refrigerated Lines, one of the countryís largest refrigerated transportation and logistics firms. TRL provides various transportation services to over 1500 companies, including many Global 500 companies, such as General Electric, Phillip Morris, Nestle Foods and Wal-Mart. Craig reported directly to TRLís CEO and was responsible for business development, operations and strategy for the firmís largest division.

    Craig received a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Marketing and International Business from Georgetown University and a M.B.A. in Finance and Strategic Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed a program in International Finance and Management at Oxford University.

    Raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he currently lives in New York City.

    Chris Sugden, Principal, Edison Venture Fund Chris Sugden, Principal, Edison Venture Fund

    Chris Sugden, Principal, is a successful entrepreneur and technology company executive, experienced in finance, capital raising, strategy, product management and sales and marketing. His financial and operating perspective as an entrepreneur and a VC make him a valuable asset to portfolio company management.

    At Edison, Chris focuses on New Jersey and New York City based companies, identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities and helping guide existing portfolio companies. Chris also focuses on the Financial Services and e-Commerce industries for Edison. He frequently speaks on these industries at seminars and tradeshows and attends industry events focused on these sectors. Within Edison's current portfolio Chris sits on the boards of Dotphoto, Incurrent Solutions, and Satori Group.

    Previously, Chris was Executive Vice President and CEO of Princeton eCom's Electronic Billing Division. He also served as Princeton eCom's EVP and CFO focusing on raising capital, finance and accounting and strategy. During Chris' tenure the Company successfully raised over $80M in private equity. In 2001, the New Jersey Technology Council named Princeton eCom the Internet, e-Business and Multimedia Company of the Year.

    Earlier in his career, Chris was Director of Finance and Operations for two magazine start-ups and Internet businesses funded by Freedom Communications, Inc. Chris also spent over four years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly, Coopers & Lybrand), where he was part of the entrepreneurial services group in the firm's Boston office. Chris is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of CPA's. He received a BA in Accounting from Michigan State University.
