    Unpopular Ventures
My experience is almost entirely in startups and investing in them. I was the first Engineer at iRhythm - a medical device company backed by Norwest, Mohr Davidow, New Leaf, among others - which IPO'd in 2016 and is now valued >$2 B. I also founded a health tech startup that was backed by Kleiner Perkins (Lifesquare), and also worked briefly with GE Ventures - investigating strategic opportunities between startups and their business units. I've been Angel Investing professionally for the past 5+ years, made over 130 investments to date, and produced aggregate investment returns that are well within the top decile (if not top 5%) of VC industry performance. Based on my success, many friends and former classmates have asked to invest behind me. I've built a syndicate on AngelList, called Unpopular Ventures, where I now have 419 LPs behind me, investing in my deals. I named my syndicate "Unpopular Ventures" because 1) all of my best investments in the past were "off path" and/or non-consensus in the beginning, and 2) I continue to look for opportunities with outstanding teams, traction, and potential - but that have an element to them that runs against biases that most investors hold - causing them to be quickly dismissed by most.
