    Lou Mazzucchelli, Venture Partner, Ridgewood Capital Lou Mazzucchelli, Venture Partner, Ridgewood Capital

    Prior to joining Ridgewood Capital, Lou Mazzucchelli was an investment banker at Gerard Klauer Mattison in New York, which he joined in 1996 as their PC and digital media technology analyst. He was named to the Wall Street Journal all-star team in 1998 and in 1999 was one of nine "Home-Run Hitters" of 2,400 analysts recognized for his stock-picking performance. Previously, Lou spent 13 years leading Cadre Technologies, a pioneering computer-aided software engineering tools company that he founded in 1982 and grew to become one of the top 50 US ISVs before its sale in 1986. During this period, he was listed in the "Top 200 in the Software Industry" by Software Magazine. Lou began his career in data communications, moving to IT management and consulting before founding Cadre. Currently, he is a Director of Forgent Networks (NASDAQ:FORG).

    Sita Vasan has worked for Intel Capital's Strategic Investment team for the past 4 years. During this time, she has closed over 30 venture capital investments in the media, semiconductor, wireless, enterprise software, storage, and optical sectors. She has 15 years of prior investment banking experience where she worked in London for Orion Royal Bank & Bank of Tokyo, in Paris as Vice President and head of Banque Indosuez’s Foreign Swap Marketing team and at the private sector arm of the World Bank, International Finance Corp (IFC). At IFC she managed the Client Derivative Management team and worked in the Telecom/Infrastructure project finance team. Her education includes an MBA from Wharton (University of Pennsylvania) and BA from Bryn Mawr College.

    Nicholas Puro, Partner, Edelson Funds Nicholas Puro, Partner, Edelson Funds

    Nicholas Puro is a Partner of the EDELSON funds, a series of five strategic venture capital funds, which has managed corporate rather than pension money for ten of the world’s largest multinational corporations (AT&T, Viacom, 3M, Ford Motor, Cincinnati Bell, Colgate-Palmolive, Reed Elsevier, Imation, Asea Brown Boveri and UPS). The Edelson funds have invested in more than eighty companies in all areas of technology including information technology, specialty materials, life sciences, telecom and alternative energy.

    Nick is responsible for analyzing potential investments, making investments in portfolio companies and representing the interests of the Edelson funds on boards of various portfolio companies. He has more than 20 years experience negotiating the terms of private equity investments, performing due diligence on potential portfolio companies, serving on boards of directors and formulating exit strategies. He also has extensive experience counseling companies in connection with IPO’s, mergers and acquisitions and private placement fund raising. Nick has been a speaker at numerous conferences in the U.S. and in Europe.

    Prior to joining the Edelson funds, Nick was an angel investor and a practicing attorney at Pavia & Harcourt, a boutique law firm with offices in New York City and Europe. As an attorney he specialized in the representation of venture capital firms and venture funded technology and manufacturing companies. His angel investments were primarily in companies he represented as an attorney and companies funded by his venture capital clients. Education: BS in Accounting from Seton Hall University and a JD from Fordham University Law School. Mr. Puro is a member of National Venture Capital Association.

    Steve Brotman, Managing Director, Silicon Alley Venture Partners Steve Brotman, Managing Director, Silicon Alley Venture Partners

    Mr. Brotman founded Silicon Alley Venture Partners in 1998. The fund's institutional investors control over $2 billion in venture capital and include TL Ventures, a Safeguard affiliate, TD Capital and the principles of Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Boston Millennium. Prior to SAVP, Mr. Brotman was the founder, CEO and chairman of AdOne Classified Network, his third startup, and the nation's leading classified ad web site and provider of turnkey solutions to daily and weekly newspapers. Under his leadership, AdOne grew to over 500 publications in 37 states. AdOne was one of Silicon Alley's first venture backed Internet companies, received over $30 million in backing, and was sold in 1998 to a consortium of leading media holding companies. Mr. Brotman was a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2000 sponsored by Ernst and Young, named in Crain's 2001 Tech 100 and in 1997 was selected for Crain's Top 25 Players Shaping Silicon Alley and the 1995 Top 40 under 40 among New York businessmen. Mr. Brotman was #32 in the 1997 Silicon Alley Reporter Top 100. Mr. Brotman received hisundergraduate degree in Economics from Duke University and a joint JD/MBA degree with honors from Washington University in St. Louis; he completed his final year of graduate studies at Columbia University's law and business school.

    Todd Squilanti, Partner, Ovation Capital Todd Squilanti, Partner, Ovation Capital

    Todd joined Ovation as a Partner in May 2000. Prior to joining the team, he was a Vice President at GE Equity, GE's venture investment unit. In four years with GE, he invested in numerous transactions in healthcare and financial services.

    Todd began his career in 1990 with GE Aerospace in financial planning and analysis. He moved on to marketing assignments with GE Capital and GE Corporate where he launched new sales initiatives.

    He is currently a director of Rentport, Connectiva Systems and Navtrak.

    Todd earned an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in History from Colgate University.

    Arie Abecassis, Managing Director, Research Partners Arie Abecassis, Managing Director, Research Partners

    Arie Abecassis, Managing Director, joined Research Partners in 2003 and directs the firm's investment activities. He has more than fifteen years of investing and operating experience across the information, technology and media industries. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Abecassis worked at Thomson Financial Ventures, a division of the Thomson Corporation, where he actively participated in directing and supporting investments in more than a dozen companies including creditex Inc., Financeware Inc. and Javelin Technologies (now part of NYFix). He has also served in a variety of investment banking and corporate development roles at the Jordan Edmiston Group, Marvel Entertainment Group and Dow Jones & Company. Mr. Abecassis is actively involved on a variety of boards. He earned his MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business, where he was a Stern Scholar and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Society, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
