    Valerie is an active angel investor and Founder of the Angel Venture Forum. She has been involved with many start-up companies in the areas of operational development and strategic planning for more than 20 years. She is the founder and president of Capital Growth, Inc. (CGI) which was founded in 1994 as a venture capital data and information publishing company. CGI currently specializes in business building and actively invests in early stage companies. From 2004-2007 Valerie served as President of the Pennsylvania Angel Network. She also served as director of the Private Investors Forum (Philadelphia) and the annual Angel Venture Fair (AVF) - a consortium of angel investors from 2004-2010. Valerie serves on the Policy Committee of the Angel Capital Association (ACA). Additionally, she is a member of the PEG PAC Political Action Committee Board of the Pennsylvania Business Council and founder of Entrepreneurs for Growth (EFG) which was established to preserve and encourage the stability and growth of American emerging businesses by educating elected officials about early stage companies. Valerie previously served as an Analyst for the Pennsylvania State Senate and worked for Senate leadership. She also served as Staff Assistant for U.S. Senator H.     Fredric Gumbinner is a serial investor/executive/advisor/capital raiser. He has been in Micro-Cap Private Equity and Angel Investing for over thirty years and formally for over twelve years. He has worked in various capacities with hundreds of start-ups and early stage companies. He has extensive experience in capital-raising matters, involving all levels of the capital stack, having participated in over US$30 billion of successful financings and corporate transactions, ranging from 4Fs, Angel and Seed funding to IPOs, Dispositions or other exits. In addition to his numerous private investment activities, Mr. Gumbinner is a consultant and advisor to several early stage technology ventures, and has served in an executive capacity or as a board member or advisor to over 75 companies. He currently is a Managing Director of several Private Equity firms and is the President of the DC Metro Chapter of Keiretsu Forum, the largest and most prevalent Angel Investor Group on the planet. A couple highlights of his achievements are serving as President and CEO of an early-stage magnetics company where he increasing the value of the company by over 1000 fold in four years; and serving as VP & GC of an electricity generation development company that yielded a $400 million return on $110 million total investment, with an IRR well in excess of 100%. Mr. Gumbinner received his BA (magna cum laude) from Colgate University and his JD. degree (magna cum laude and Contributing Editor of the Michigan Law Review) from The University of Michigan Law School.

    Sam Rubenstein is the Founder and President of Panacea Capital Advisors, Inc., a venture capital and strategic advisory firm located in Bethesda, Maryland. In this capacity, he regularly serves as a strategic advisor, mentor, counselor, coach and confidant for entrepreneurs and senior management as well as a trusted partner to owners and investors. Mr. Rubenstein has served, and continues to serve, as an investor-sponsored director and as an independent director for dozens of U.S. private businesses. Mr. Rubenstein has more than 25 years of experience advising financial services companies, investors, entrepreneurs and U.S. middle-market businesses with identifying, structuring, negotiating, documenting and executing M&A and other corporate development transactions, debt and equity financing transactions, strategic alliances and distressed investment transactions. In total, he has negotiated and managed more than 600 separate financing transactions with an aggregate transaction value exceeding $6 billion. Prior to forming Panacea Capital Advisors in 2011, Mr. Rubenstein served for more than a decade as a senior executive officer and the general counsel of MCG Capital Corporation, a publicly traded investment company. During his tenure at MCG Capital, its portfolio grew from about $300 million to nearly $2 billion. At MCG Capital, Mr. Rubensteinís responsibilities included structuring, documenting and negotiating financing and fund raising transactions as well as corporate governance matters with respect to MCG Capital and its portfolio of controlled companies. Prior to joining MCG Capital, Mr. Rubenstein was an attorney and partner in private practice with two separate multinational law firms, where his practice focused on corporate and commercial investment transactions as well as the regulation of financial services companies. Mr. Rubenstein received his J.D. from The George Washington University National Law Center and his BBA in Data Processing and Honors Business from the University of Texas.
