    Scott Kelly Founder and CEO of Black Dog Venture Partners, is a 25 year fundraising, marketing, sales, training and publicity veteran. Scott has raised millions of dollars in capital for disruptive companies, garnered national media coverage for hundreds of regional and national brands and generated millions of dollars in revenues for the companies he has represented.

    He has also trained over 1,000 sales people and has taught marketing at the university level in the United States and Europe.

    When not making his clients famous, Scott spends his time in countless sporting events with his wife and two boys. He loves a good craft beer and playing with his “Black Dog” Shamus.

    Joseph R. Zell became a General Partner in January of 2002. Mr. Zell has an extensive, 20-year operating background in communications and data networking, including nine years with US West Communications-now Qwest Communications, where he was instrumental in building US WEST's !NTERPRISE Networking Division and was the president of the division for the last four years. He was most recently chief executive officer of Convergent Communications. Prior to US WEST, he held a variety of management positions at WilTel, LDXNet, United Technologies Communications, MCI Communications and Xerox Corporation. At Grotech, Mr. Zell focuses on investment opportunities in the Emerging Industries practice with emphasis on the communications, networking, software and outsourcing sectors. Mr. Zell graduated with honors from Southwest Missouri State University with a B.S. in Marketing.

    Charlie Kelly leads the venture banking group in Broomfield, CO. This team services early stage companies in the technology and life science sectors throughout Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Nebraska. Charlie has been with SVB since 2007 and previously led SVB's Private Equity Banking Group in the Central United States. Kelly graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and where he served as co-captain of the Blue Devil Varsity Cross Country Team. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and entered the submarine training pipeline. Following the nuclear and submarine training schools, Kelly spent three years as an officer aboard the USS Tucson stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI. Aboard the fast attack submarine, he served both as a nuclear engineering officer as well as an Officer of the Deck. Charlie left the US Navy ranked as a lieutenant. In 2005, Kelly entered the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business MBA program. With a focus on finance and entrepreneurship, he participated on the school’s Venture Capital Investment Competition team, which placed 4th in the country in 2007.     Craig Jones is the Managing Partner of Ticonderoga Private Equity. He has been CEO or Chairman of nine companies in his career including currently serving as the Executive Chairman at InnoCentive, Chairman of CloudXPartners, and Chairman of both eStudySite and National Research Institute. Mr. Jones was most recently on the Board of Advisors and the first institutional investor of HealthDataInsights (sold to HMS Holdings for $400 million) and on the Board of Directors of TC3 Health (sold to Emdeon for over $100 million). He was an investor in Samba Safety which was sold this year in a transaction netting Ticonderoga 11X. He has invested in over 60 innovative companies, including those in the healthcare IT, healthcare services, SaaS, and internet sectors. Mr. Jones has overseen investments of over $400 million in his private equity career. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Dillon, Read & Co., a Vice President at Advent International, an associate at Centennial Ventures, and a management consultant with Bain & Co. Mr. Jones is a graduate Magna Cum Laude of Harvard Law School.

    GP is an IT Executive, Entrepreneur and Angel Investor with over 27 years of global IT experience in the field of healthcare, insurance and telecom.     Kirk Holland is a Managing Director at Access Venture Partners, where he brings a long track record of successfully investing in, growing and exiting high growth technology and digital media companies. Kirk has led investments in NexGen Storage (acquired by Fusion IO), Craftsy, RoundPegg, TapInfluence and TaskEasy while at AVP. He also brings a broad history of operating experience across many functions, including general management, sales & marketing, business development, operations and engineering with companies such as Procter & Gamble and Jupiter Media.     Joel joined Cypress Growth Capital in 2014 and oversees the firm’s Denver office with responsibility for investing activity throughout Colorado. He works closely with Cypress portfolio companies on growth initiatives and follow-on capital strategy. Prior to joining the Cypress team, Joel was a Managing Director at Core Capital Group, a boutique investment bank with a focus on raising early rounds of institutional capital for growth-stage companies.     Aaron is a Principal at PV Ventures and has been with the firm since 2013. He manages fund operations and leads the effort on due diligence. Most recently, he came from the corporate strategy group at Newmont Mining where he worked on M&A, government negotiations and investor relations. While earning his MBA, Aaron worked on special projects for a venture-backed company in the clean coal industry. Earlier in his career, he spent 10 years in the army as an Apache helicopter pilot, including two tours of duty to Iraq. He has a BS in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the Daniels College of Business with a concentration in Finance. He lives in Denver with his wife and two children.
