    Joseph Piper directs the overall investment strategy for Integra Ventures. Since 1983, he has been involved with corporate governance, formation, growth, senior management, mergers and acquisitions, and investment in the healthcare industry. He currently sits on the board of four Integra Ventures portfolio companies: National Healing, HealthHelp, Physicians Edge, and Cara Vita. Joseph also serves as an advisor to the Long Term Care Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors. Prior to founding Integra Ventures, Joseph co-founded and served as President of Capital Services for Diversified Health Services (DHS), the largest post-acute care outsourcing management firm in the U.S. at the time, which was later sold to ServiceMaster (NYSE: SVM). Before moving to DHS, Joseph was Chief Corporate Counsel and Chief Operating Officer for the Voluntary Hospitals of America Long Term Care Group. His duties included integrating a post-acute strategy into hospital delivery systems through acquisitions, leasing, development, financing and management of sub-acute facilities with hospitals. Early in his career, Joseph served as Corporate Counsel for The Hillhaven Corporation, the nation's second largest extended care company. As one of two staff attorneys, his responsibilities included acquiring, leasing, developing and financing 350 facilities over a 2 1/2-year period - a total capitalization of approximately $980 million. Joseph holds an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado, as well as a Juris Doctor Degree from Seattle University. He earned his B.S. in Business from Arizona State University where he also played basketball.

    Petra Franklin, Managing Director & Co-founder, Vault Capital Petra Franklin, Managing Director & Co-founder, Vault Capital

    Petra Franklin is the Managing Director of Vault Capital and a General Partner of Vault Capital II. She co-founded the venture capital company in 1998 with Irwin Treiger and William Justen. Ms. Franklin is responsible for Vault Capital's investments in Terabeam, Singingfish, Appliant, Ramgen, mForma and eProject.

    Prior to Vault Capital, Ms. Franklin worked with start-ups in a management or director capacity and came to that from the data networking and wireless communications field including positions with US West Wireless, AT&T, MFS, UUNET, IBM, WorldCom, and as Associate Producer for CBS in New York City. Ms. Franklin has also worked closely with artist Dale Chihuly building his support organization for upwards of 11 years.

    Ms. Franklin is on the board of the National Science Foundation's Science Technology Center for Information Technology, a member of the National Venture Capital Association, Seraph Capital Partners, MIT Enterprise Forum, the Alliance of Angels, Washington Software Association, FWE, WWFC, the Hilltop Group, and WIT, and was a founding member of Agile, Alpha Arts and Seniors Making Art. Ms. Franklin attended Harvard University and Bennington College, where she received her undergraduate degree. She also attended Stanford University and the University of Washington.

    Matt McIlwain, Managing Director, Madrona Venture Group Matt McIlwain, Managing Director, Madrona Venture Group

    Matt McIlwain joined Madrona in 2000 and currently serves on the boards of Isilon Systems and Vykor. He was on the boards of Nimble (acquired by Actuate) and Performant (acquired by Mercury Interactive), and was actively involved with TeamOn Systems (acquired by Research in Motion).

    Previously, he was Vice President of Business Process for the Genuine Parts Company (GPC), a Fortune 250 company. He served as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, concentrating on strategy and marketing in the telecom, supply chain and financial service industries, and also worked in investment banking at CS First Boston.

    Mr. McIlwain is a Technology Advisor to the Discovery Institute and advisory board member for Families Northwest. He and Greg Gottesman joint teach an annual course on venture capital in the University of Washington Executive MBA Program. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College, holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvardís Kennedy School of Government.

    Erik focuses on investments in software, online marketing, and datacenter systems. Prior to joining Voyager Capital in 1998, he was a founding member of the private equity group at Chemical Securities (now JP Morgan Chase & Co.). Erik currently serves on the boards of 1020, Covario, Kryptiq, Trailfire, and Verari Systems. Previously, he served on the board of CapitalStream (acquired by HCL Technologies). Erik sourced Voyager's investment in aQuantive (acquired by Microsoft) and assisted in making investments in ClearCommerce (acquired by eFunds) and Tegic Communications (acquired by AOL). Erik has a BA in Economics with honors from Pacific Lutheran University and an MBA with honors from Harvard Business School.
