    Summit Accelerator Fund is a venture capital fund that focuses on rapidly growing, profitable companies with capital needs of $2 million to $10 million. These companies have reached profitability without outside professional investment. They typically use financing from Summit Accelerator Fund to supply working capital for growth, to fund new initiatives and acquisitions, and to provide shareholder liquidity.

    Mike Hirshland is a general partner in our Boston office. Mike joined Polaris in May 1999. He focuses on information technology investments.

    Mike came to Polaris from Intel's Corporate Business Development Group. Before becoming a technology investor, Mike served as counsel to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, where he conceived and supervised the Senate's hearings on "Competition, Innovation and Public Policy in the Digital Age." In this capacity, Mike spent over a year working closely with a significant number of prominent hi-tech CEOs, entrepreneurs, investors, and technology visionaries. Before joining the committee, Mike practiced with the law firm Williams & Connolly, and clerked for Justice Anthony Kennedy at the U.S. Supreme Court and The Hon. J. Michael Luttig on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to his legal career, Mike was a strategy consultant with Bain & Company

    Bobby Goswami joined ABS in 2001 as a Principal. Headquartered in the Boston office, he focuses on investment opportunities in the Enterprise Software and Communications sectors and serves on the board of ABS portfolio company NSI Software, Inc.

    Prior to ABS, Bobby was part of Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown's Technology Investment Banking Group, where he specialized in equity and M&A transactions for technology companies. Bobby has over 9 years of investment banking experience with Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. Before entering investment banking, he spent 4 years in the systems practice at Andersen Consulting. Education: Massachusetts Institute of Technology Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

    Dave joined Battery in 1995 and focuses on software investments. His current board seats are BladeLogic, ChemConnect, Dirig, Excelergy, Made2Manage Systems, MCA Solutions, and Spring Street Networks. In addition, his prior investments include Eggrock Partners (acquired by Breakaway), Altra Energy Technologies (acquired by Caminus), and Vastera (NASDAQ: VAST). Prior to joining Battery, Dave was with Cambridge Associates, a financial consulting firm, where he was responsible for tracking the venture capital industry and evaluating venture capital firms. Dave graduated from Dartmouth College with honors in Engineering.
