    Ariel Eckstein, Principal, New York City Investment Fund Ariel Eckstein, Principal, New York City Investment Fund

    Mr. Eckstein oversees the Fundís investments in the Communications, and Information Technology sectors. He also manages the Fundís interest in the New York Small Business Venture Fund, a New York State Certified Capital Company. Before joining the Fund, he held various positions with ClickThings, Inc., including Chief Operating Officer and Vice President for International. Earlier, he spent four years at Deloitte Consulting, providing operational and strategy advisory services to Fortune 50 clients in the Telecommunications and Financial Services industries. Prior to Deloitte, Mr. Eckstein spent three years at William Kent International, assisting clients with international market entry and operations improvement projects. He has also worked with KPMG Peat Marwick in their operational and strategic consulting practice and as a senior staff member for U.S. Senator Robert Graham. Mr. Eckstein received an MBA from the Colgate Darden School at the University of Virginia and a BA from Tufts University, Magna cum Laude.

    Saul Richter, Principal, Himalaya Capital Ventures Saul Richter, Principal, Himalaya Capital Ventures

    Saul joined Himalaya in 2002 from Lucent Technologies' New Ventures Group, where he focused on the creation and launch of software startups. He brings a wealth of experience on both the investment and operational sides of technology venture capital having worked in the space since 1996. In addition to Lucent, Saul has prior experience working at Softbank Ventures (now Mobius Venture Capital), Jerusalem Global, Salomon Smith Barney and Dubois, Brown & Co. He was also the founding US employee of Zapper Technologies, an advanced data retrieval company, where he led the formation and development of the company's US presence. With roots in software development and systems administration, Saul brings to Himalaya a strong technical background in a broad range of software and systems.

    Saul earned his MBA from Columbia Business School where he was awarded the Beta Gamma Sigma Alumni for overall achievement and received his BA in Economics from Columbia University.

    James McNiel, General Partner, Pequot Ventures James McNiel, General Partner, Pequot Ventures

    Jim McNiel focuses on enterprise software applications and technologies that significantly impact and improve business processes for the Pequot venture and private equity funds. Mr. McNiel is an early investor and believer in the development of service oriented architectures and the tools required to enable them. Mr. McNiel brought 20 years of operating experience in the technology industry to Pequot. Before joining the firm in a full-time capacity, he worked with Pequot as a consultant identifying new technology opportunities. Previously, Mr. McNiel was president of McNiel Group, Ltd., and earlier, founder and executive vice president of corporate development of Cheyenne Software, Inc. Mr. McNiel has also served as executive director at Spike Technologies, Inc., executive vice president at USWeb/CKS, director of advanced products at AST Research, Inc., and software development manager at Lucasfilm Ltd.

    J. Bradley Parish, Associate, Advantage Capital Partners J. Bradley Parish, Associate, Advantage Capital Partners

    Mr. Parish's responsibilities include the origination, analysis, structuring and negotiation of new investments. He also provides administrative, financial and strategic planning support to portfolio companies.

    Prior to joining Advantage Capital Partners, Mr. Parish worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley & Co. in the Mergers & Acquisitions department in New York. Prior to that, he practiced corporate law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. Mr. Parish earned a B.B.A. from the Mitte Business Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin in 1994. He received an M.B.A. from the McCombs Graduate School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1998.
