All were deals in which Altos was the lead investor in the seed or first institutional round of funding. Before joining Altos Ventures in 1996, Ho worked at Silicon Graphics (SGI) and Octel Communications (acquired by Lucent). Ho began his VC career at Trinity Ventures in 1990 and began his professional career at Bain & Company where he advised clients in the Semiconductor industry on product and corporate strategy.

He was a General Partner of Newtek Ventures from 1989 until 1999, when he co-founded Horizon Ventures where he also is a General Partner. Prior to his venture capital career, John had broad experience in senior financial and general management roles over a 20-year period in the pharmaceutical, semiconductor and software industries and was a co-founder of 3 successful software companies. As a venture capitalist, John has been a member of 14 board of directors of both private and public companies and currently serves on the boards of four private companies. Steve has also held senior management and engineering positions at Trimble Navigation and Hewlett Packard. I am currently a Partner in IBM's Venture Capital Group.

Prior to this I held various positions in IBM Global Services, focussed on transforming the business toward models which are less labor-based and which improve productivity and differentiation through increased use of innovative technologies (what we broadly refer to as "services technology assets").

Prior to this at IBM, I have been involved with developing emerging businesses, based at least in part from technologies developed in our Research laboratories. This has included a variety of businesses based on hardware, software, services, and various nanotech-related technologies.

I also serve as an advisor to several small companies.

Prior to joining IBM, I co-founded and managed several companies in the areas importing, marketing, and distribution of consumer products; specialty polymer products; and intellectual property and product development.

Previously, I was a Research Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Arizona.

I also served for eleven years as a consultant, where I assisted large and small businesses with managing product research and development efforts and with IP strategy and litigation.

I have led fundamental and applied research efforts relating to optical and electrical properties of nanostructured materials and devices, with a focus on electrochromic technology for "smart windows." I have also led research efforts relating to interfacial properties of medical polymers and to wetting and fluid flow in microporous materials. I have authored numerous publications and book chapters in the technical literature.

I received my B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from M.I.T., and I received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering and Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona.

Nicola Corzine is deal manger for the Band of Angels; she is also the founder and executive director of Financing Partners, an organization offering specific programs designed to help entrepreneurs and investors reach their mutual objectives. Nicola has a broad background in investor relations and marketing at both startup companies, such as Digital Integrity, and financial institutions, including Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to joining Financing Partners, she was the director for Fundraising Forum where she grew their Silicon Valley investor base from 300 to over 1,000.

Adrian Shulman has a broad range of experience in private and public company merger and acquisition and joint venture transactions as well as equity and debt financing. She advises public and private technology, life sciences, and other clients in a wide range of matters, including licensing, manufacturing and development agreements; research and collaboration arrangements; intellectual property protection; corporate governance compliance; securities registration and reporting requirements; equity and executive compensation issues and general corporate advice. She represents private equity firms in complex structural finance transactions as well as early and late stage financings. In addition, she represents venture capital firms in connection with their investments in portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Bingham, Adrian was an associate at DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary and Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault.
