Grant Allen joined Core Capital in 2007 with nearly six years of strategy consulting and telecommunications industry experience. Most recently, Grant was at Liberty Associated Partners, where he worked with the CEO of Jingle Networks’ 1-800-FREE-411, and Microsoft Corporation, where he was a Product Manager in the Mobile & Embedded Devices division and developed field-level compete strategy for Windows Mobile.

Previously, Grant was a consultant at Dean & Company, where he focused on transitioning telecom infrastructure providers to new growth sectors such as mobile media and location-based services, as well as cost reduction strategy for wireline carriers. He began his career working with a number of young companies, including Bates White, an economics consulting firm; Nextera Interactive, a Internet incubator and IT consulting firm; and A-k Presence, a web design and e-commerce services firm he founded. He remains actively involved with a number of non-profit organizations including Washington, DC-based FareShare and the Ocular Melanoma Foundation, which he also founded.

Grant received his B.S.E. in Civil Engineering cum laude from Duke University and an M.B.A. with an individualized major in Private Equity and Venture Capital from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. There, he was an Executive Director of the Wharton Graduate Association, a Leadership Fellow, and sat on the board of the Wharton Alumni Association.

Justin joined NEA’s healthcare team in 2006 and focuses on medical device, specialty pharma and biopharmaceutical company investments. He is actively involved with NEA’s investments as a board observer for Carticept Medical, Moximed, Psyadon Pharmaceuticals, TriVascular2, Ulthera, VertiFlex, Viacor, Vibrynt and VytronUS.

Previously, Justin worked for the Duke University Health System, reporting directly to the hospital CEO on health system strategy, finance and clinical service unit operations. In addition, he has worked at Latham & Watkins LLP in Menlo Park, where he assisted life sciences companies on numerous licensing transactions, regulatory and corporate securities matters. Justin recently completed a term on the Board of Trustees of Duke University, and has previously served on the medical center’s Institutional Review Board. Justin concurrently earned his MD from the Duke University School of Medicine and his JD from Harvard Law School. He received his AB in Economics and his BS in Biological Anthropology and Anatomy from Duke University.

Sever is responsible for leading investments in enterprise software and business services companies primarily located in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia area. He focuses on software sectors including business intelligence, securing the enterprise, mobility, real-time infrastructure, information services and on-demand applications. Sever is active in the venture community as President of the Young Atlantic Venture Association, and he also serves on venture committees for MAVA, Deloitte & Touche Technology Venture Center (TVC), Maryland Incubator and National Sciences Foundation Tech Program.

Prior to joining Edison, Sever was with Lazard Technology Partners (LTP), a $400M early stage venture fund. There he co-led the enterprise software investment practice. He worked closely with management teams and the boards of portfolio companies Vocus (NASDAQ: VOCS), Managed Objects, Intellitactics, NFR Security (sold to Checkpoint), Aptsoft, Cyveillance and BoxTone. He was also a member of the original investment team for BoxTone, AptSoft, FNX (sold to GL Trade), Interwise (sold to AT&T), Intellitactics and Vocus. Before joining LTP in 2000, Sever was a senior Product Manager with Thomson Financial's Equity Research Products division, comprised of the Worldscope, Disclosure, IBES and Datastream business lines. In this role, Sever led teams responsible for software platform development, database architecture, content operations management, as well as implementation of systems for equity analyses and quantitative portfolio modeling. Sever is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute.

Gil Beyda is managing partner of Genacast Ventures, a seed-stage venture fund formed in partnership with Comcast Interactive Capital. Genacast invests up to $500,000 in new media, digital marketing, consumer Internet and web x.0 companies.

Prior to Genacast, Gil was CTO of TACODA, the first and largest behavioral targeted, online ad network. TACODA was acquired by AOL in 2007.

Gil helped pioneer Internet advertising in 1995 as founder and CTO of Real Media, one of the first online ad networks and ad server companies. Real Media was acquired by 24/7 Media in 2001.

For ten years prior to Real Media, Gil was a highly sought-after software consultant in Asia, Europe and the U.S.

Prashanth, or "PV", brings over 20 years of operational and executive management experience to Novak Biddle Venture Partners. PV is currently on the boards of Approva, Appfluent, Appian and Centrifuge Systems through investments as a partner at Novak Biddle Venture Partners. He was most recently an investor and co-founder of ClearStandards that was sold to SAP AG in May 2009.

PV was the founder and CEO (2001-2008) of Approva Corporation and helped to make it the gold-standard for how large global companies and their external auditors ensure the strength of their company's internal controls. Approva is backed by marquee venture capital firms including Novak Biddle, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Columbia Capital, and Sierra Ventures with strategic investment from Hyperion/Oracle.

Before founding Approva, PV was co-founder and president (1996-2000) of Entevo, Corp., which was sold to Bindview (now part of Symantec) for $125 million in January 2000. Entevo raised over $25M dollars in venture capital was backed by marquee investors including NEA, Oak Investment Partners, Draper International, FBR Ventures, SAP Ventures and Novak Biddle Venture Partners. Prior to founding Entevo, PV spent several years managing enterprise-class products at Microsoft's Systems Division, and later as a Director in its worldwide consulting services group (MCS).

PV was selected as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for three consecutive years (2006, 2007, and 2008) for the Greater Washington region. He has also been recognized for building one of the Hottest Management Teams in the Washington DC area by the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the nation's largest technology think tank. PV is as an active board member of TiE-DC, Washington's largest business networking organization, which provides area entrepreneurs with mentorship and support. PV is also the Chairperson of Pratham-DC, India's largest non-governmental educational non-profit group. John Moore is a Managing Director of Robin Hood Ventures and a member of the Pennsylvania Angel Network. He has been a full-time angel investor for four years. Prior to joining Robin Hood Ventures, John consulted to early-stage companies in the Philadelphia area.

John also held an executive position with Seton Company, among the world's largest suppliers of automotive leather. John was responsible for business acquisition and development, managed world-wide product pricing, and implemented international strategic initiatives. Prior to Seton Company, John developed and launched new cardiovascular catheter products at B. Braun Medical.

John holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware and an M.B.A. with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from Drexel University.

Andrew Ray represents public and private companies and financial sponsors in a broad range of corporate and finance matters. Andy has extensive experience in the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT), energy, health care, and life and health insurance sectors.

Prior to joining the firm, Andy served as a clerk to the Hon. James M. Sprouse of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Andy also has taught at George Mason University School of Law as an adjunct professor. Andy is a native of Buffalo, N.Y.
