    An experienced venture investor, John Babcock has been a partner at Rustic Canyon Partners since the firm's formation in 1999. John Babcock brings over 15 years of technology industry experience to both the firm and our portfolio companies. He focuses on investment opportunities in clean technology, technology-enabled services, outsourcing and advanced construction materials. Before the founding of Rustic Canyon, John was general manager of online real estate at the Los Angeles Times. Previously, John founded the Delta Group, a technology consulting firm. Intel, Compaq Computer and Home Savings of America are among the companies that he has advised. John began his career as a software programmer.

    John received his B.A. from Duke University and his M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Prior to joining Palomar, Kevin was the CEO of GlobeRanger, a leading RFID middleware startup based in Texas. Before GlobeRanger, Kevin spent nearly six years as a partner with Sevin Rosen Funds, where he led investments and worked closely with 10 portfolio companies. Earlier in his career, Kevin was involved in corporate development at, an early eCommerce company, and was a project manager with The Boston Consulting Group. Kevin has an MBA from the Wharton School and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

    Steve Slater is a Southern California-based angel investor and senior executive with over 20 years experience. He has worked in numerous management functions ranging from manufacturing to business development to general management, in multiple industries including medical device/healthcare, food/gift, software, and Internet.

    Mr. Slaterís career spans both small entrepreneurial ventures and larger fortune 500 enterprises including Hewlett-Packard, Eli Lilly, Amgen, DaVita, and Lockheed. Most recently Mr. Slater owned and operated Golda & I Chocolatiers, an Orange County-based high-end chocolate manufacturer serving retailers across the US and internationally.

    Mr. Slater holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLAís Anderson School.

    Brandon is an Angel Investor with the Fat Cat Club, a national angel group of up to 100 accredited investors that meets quarterly to review and invest in early-stage companies. All of the members are accredited investors, men and women who have accumulated wealth by hard work, paying their taxes, and playing by the rules. Collectively, the members invest anywhere from $500,000 to $2 million dollars in deals that interest them, although the members invest as individuals.

    After attending Yale College, where he graduated with honors and majored in Political Science, and UCLA Law School (law review), Brandon began his legal career as a commercial litigation and energy regulatory attorney in the Washington, D.C. and Houston, TX offices of Fulbright & Jaworski. In 1994, Brandon left the practice of law to attend Harvard Business School, where his studies focused on general management and regulated industries. After receiving his MBA and returning to Los Angeles, CA, Brandonís law firm affiliations have included Greenberg Traurig and Troop Steuber. More recently and before starting his own practice, Brandon served as General Counsel for ESI Enterprises, a multimillion dollar revenue distributor and trader of consumer electronics products, located in Woodland Hills, CA. Brandonís corporate legal practice involves a wide range of business/commercial transactions, including general business contracts and license agreements, debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, internal corporate governance, and labor law matters. Representative clients are companies in the consumer products, financial, and health care industries.

    Previously, she served as Engineering Director for Thinque Systems, a wireless CRM company; where she was responsible for the strategic and architectural direction for the wireless product line and new technology initiatives.

    She is on the US Sports Film Festival Board of Directors, the Community Advisory Board for KCET Los Angeles and the Advisory Board of the MIND Institute. Ms. Bickham was a founding Board Member of the Mobile Development Association; was a Board Member for the American Women in Radio & Television, Southern California. She was an Interactive Television Alliance Executive Committee Member; Advisory Board Member for VNUís DEMXPO 2005 and Continental Vista. She takes part in the following industry groups: Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; Cable and Television Marketing Association; CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus and the IEEE. She holds degrees from University of Chicago, New Entrepreneurs Program, an MSCS from West Coast University and a BACS from University of California, Berkeley.

    Mr. Rodriguez has 6 years of Investment Banking and Private Equity experience. Currently he is employed at JW Richburg VC where he is focused on sourcing and evaluating deals for the funds they are currently launching. As well as dealing with the investor relations aspect of the firm. As a Sr. Associate with Lincoln International he was involved with sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities and managing existing portfolio companies. Prior to his tenure at Lincoln he was an analyst with JP Morgan where he worked on several sell-side transactions. He started he career with AIGFA as an analyst in their fixed products division. . Mr. Rodriguez attended Concordia University Irvine where he majored in finance.
