    Based in Silicon Valley, Richard has over twenty years experience in venture capital, business management, marketing and engineering in technology companies including Pond, AT&T Bell Labs, Advanced Micro Devices, Brooktree, and Irving International. Starting as a chip designer at Bell Labs, and strategic marketing manager at AMD, Richard later managed three business units at Brooktree with full P&L responsibility. These grew from as small as $1M up to $90M. Richard has been involved in over $400 million worth of deals, including two initial public offerings, several acquisitions, and many private financings. Co-founder of Pond, Richard serves as Director of Transitive,picoChip, and Nanotech. Richard has a B.Sc. (1st Class Hons.) and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Manchester University.

    Andrew Braccia joined Accel in 2007, bringing with him a decade of operational and leadership experience. His primary areas of investment interest include consumer Internet and software businesses with a focus on web search, digital media, online gaming, and online advertising. Andrew currently sits on the board of Cloudera, the distributor of the popular Apache Hadoop open source software package; OpenX, the world's leading open source ad server; High Gear Media, a next generation automotive content and advertising network; Vox Media, a global Internet media company that currently has two major editorial brands, SB Nation and The Verge; TRUSTe, the leading internet privacy services provider; Tiny Speck, the maker of the online game Glitch; Squarespace, a premier web publishing platform; 99designs, an online marketplace for crowdsourced graphic design; Kekanto, a Brazilian online marketplace for user reviews and recommendations; Prezi, a cloud-based presentation and collaboration service; and CardSpring, an application platform for payment cards. Andrew also was part of the team that led Accel’s investment in Ozforex, an online foreign exchange payments platform, and helps spearhead Accel's investment activity in the FB Fund.

    Prior to Accel, Andrew held a variety of executive positions in business development, general management, and operations over nearly a decade-long career at Yahoo! Prior to his departure, he was responsible for running the Search and Marketplace group which included Web Search, Flickr, Yahoo! Answers, and Yahoo!’s commerce properties (Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo! Travel, Yahoo! Real Estate, and Yahoo! Autos). Andrew also played a significant role in the acquisition and integration of several companies, including Del.icio.us, Inktomi, Overture, Alta Vista, and FAST.

    Andrew currently serves on the National Board of Advisors for DonorsChoose.org, an online charity connecting donors to teachers and students in need.

    Tom is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Partech International and has over 25 years of investment experience with a successful track record of helping several entrepreneurs build successful technology companies. His investments include Ascend Communications (ASND acq. by Lucent Technologies), Medicode (acq. by Ingenix) and VISICU (EICU). Most recently Tom has led the firm's investment activities in the healthcare IT and financial services sectors. He also currently serves on the boards of U.C. Berkley’s Entrepreneurs Forum and the World Venture Summit. Tom is an active member of the Health Management Academy (HMA) and an active supporter of the University of San Francisco’s Entrepreneurship Program. As an alumnus, Tom maintains close ties with Stanford Business School as well as Harvard University, where he serves as class secretary. Tom sits on the board of directors of current portfolio companies Decisionview, Radianse and VISICU. Tom received an undergraduate degree in Economics from Harvard University, an MS in Accounting from New York University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

    Robert McNeil has over twenty-seven years experience as an active investor and management participant in seed and early-stage biomedical companies. He founded Sanderling Ventures in 1979 and has served since then as a Managing Director of Sanderling's six investment partnerships. Dr. McNeil was the seed investor for Western Technology Ventures, Advanced Cardiovascular Systems (acquired by Guidant Corp.) and Ventitrex (acquired by St. Jude Medical). Dr. McNeil was a founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Stereotaxis, the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of ReGen Biologics, and the Chairman of Ista Pharmaceuticals, as well as other entities. As an active investor, Dr. McNeil has been instrumental in the development of InfraReDx, Athenagen/Zapaq and GeminX. In each case, close relationships with management and careful understanding of the companies’ technologies have allowed successful development of products at very early stage. Dr. McNeil earned his Ph.D. in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics in 1972 from the University of California, Irvine.

    John Hall has more than 16 years of experience in the venture capital industry . He was a General Partner of Newtek Ventures from 1989 until 1999, when he co-founded Horizon Ventures where he also is a General Partner. Prior to his venture capital career, John had broad experience in senior financial and general management roles over a 20-year period in the pharmaceutical, semiconductor and software industries and was a co-founder of 3 successful software companies. As a venture capitalist, John has been a member of 14 board of directors of both private and public companies and currently serves on the boards of four private companies. He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance and an MBA in Finance from San Jose State University and did Ph.D. work in Finance at the University of Santa Clara.

    Ed Esber is an experienced technology company CEO with expertise in marketing, sales and strategy. His early management positions were at two large technology companies, IBM and Texas Instruments. Business Week magazine has identified Ed as a visionary leader of the personal computer industry who is credited with pioneering the creation of the personal computer software industry. He has also founded or guided companies that have led the convergence of computers with multimedia, communications, toys, and child and adult learning. Ed has served as an active member of over twenty public, private and institutional boards. His board experience includes presiding over compensation and audit committees of diverse companies ranging from startups to public companies of over $5 billion in sales. His skills emphasize use of creative strategy, effective use of human capital, executive mentoring and survival of the company during difficult internal or industry transitions. Specifically, he served on the board of one technology company whose sales grew from $100 M to over $6B in less than 10 years. Ed has also presided over several acquisitions and mergers, and has raised over $50M in capital for public and private companies. Ed has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He also earned an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

    Ravi Belani is an Associate and Kauffman Fellow at Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Ravi brings experiences with new ventures and established firms to his role. Prior to Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Ravi worked in product management at software startup Zaplet (acquired by MetricStream). Ravi has also worked in product management at enterprise software company Extensity (IPO’d then acquired by GEAC) as a Mayfield Fellow. As a management consultant at McKinsey and Company’s San Francisco office, Ravi worked with Fortune 500 hi tech and biotech companies on a range of strategic issues, including market attractiveness assessments, pricing, channel strategy, and new product development processes. He has also worked at Medtronic on wireless communication technologies for remote patient monitoring and in equity research at Bridgewater Associates. Ravi is a Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi graduate of Stanford University, holding a BS with Distinction and MS in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management. Ravi also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. As a Board Fellow at Harvard, Ravi served the Global Board of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs).
