Golden Seeds is an angel investment group founded in 2004 by Stephanie Hanbury-Brown. Ms. Brown is currently the director of the managing team, together with Erica Duignan as Executive Director, Lisa Marie Casey as the co-director and Mirella Cicio as Head of the Entrepreneur Liaison Administration. This group was created in utmost support of women entrepreneurs in realizing their full potentials and capabilities in the business arena and use them to achieve the greatest success.
Members of the Golden Seeds are not only women, but also includes men, who are accredited investors in accordance to the SEC regulations. Each member invests a minimum of $25,000 per deal and $100,000 within 18 months.
As an investment group for women, the Golden Seeds looks for prospective companies that are headed or owned by women that has a very strong and experienced management team, has a huge market potential that can generate a minimum of $1 billion, a viable product and business plan, has a second stage developed product with market consideration, having at least two paying clients, has an actual and concrete barrier for competition, and most importantly, a precise exit strategy.
Any women-owned company who are interested to apply for funding and has met the Golden Seeds' qualifications can submit their applications online together with an executive summary. A screening committee shall evaluate the applications. After which, two or three companies shall be invited to present in a forum. Those who were not given the chance to present shall be given some advice for improvement to make future investments possible. Presentation of the each of the chosen companies shall be within 15 minutes, followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer panel discussion. Within 24 hours, a company that has incited interest from the investment group members will be invited for a meeting. This meeting shall decide whether a due diligence process shall follow. Due diligence evaluation is carried out within four weeks and shall determine if the group will move further to an actual investment. If so, the terms and agreements will be finally negotiated.

Golden Seeds is also a partner of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge, LLP and affiliated with New York Angels, Angel Capital Association, Count-Me-In and the Women's Association of Venture & Equity, Inc.
