Stateline Angels is an angel investor group founded in 2004 at Rockport, Illinois. Its members and/or investors are from the same area and are elite experts in their respective fields of diverse businesses and industries. These business executives are dedicated individuals who work towards the progress of the investment group by helping highly competitive companies to succeed. This help comes in the form of investment funding which will be awarded to qualified candidates.
Aspirants for a Stateline Angels membership should be accredited investors in accordance to the SEC regulations and has an individual net worth of more than $1 million, or has an individual income of more than $200,000 or joint income of more than $300,000 in the last two years. They should also be either a founder or has incorporated at least one or more companies or a renowned business executive in a public company or has previous experience and knowledge in investing on a business. Qualified members should be able to devote 5-10 hours a month for evaluation of investment applications and due diligence processing, should have an established network of essential contacts in the community, should have the necessary knowledge and experience in business and investment, should take part in Stateline Angels investments twice a year and should have interest in mentoring entrepreneurs and in regional economic development.
Companies or businesses that has high level of growth potential, highly marketable product/technology and highly feasible business plan and strategy are the preferable candidates for the Stateline Angels investment fund. This investment group also looks for a company whose market potential can generate about $5 to $10 million worth of return of investments, has a strategically formulated marketing plan, a technologically advanced edge in the market, has a strong and experienced management team, willingness to learn and be taught, a strategically planned exit and a company valuation that is suitable with the investment. Funding applications has a processing fee of $100.
Stateline Angels is a member of the Angel Capital Association and affiliated with different groups and organizations such as Rockford Area Ventures, EIGERlab, EDGE, Wisconsin Angel Network and Illinois Technology Development Alliance. Rockford Area Ventures assists in the evaluation and screening of investment applications and in the preparation of proposals submitted to Stateline Angels. In exchange, Stateline Angels provide funds to the qualified companies or businesses that are end results that came out from research at the EIGERlab.
Stateline Angels prefer to invest in the fields of biotechnology, business products/services, computers and peripherals, consumer products/services, electronics/instrumentation, financial services, healthcare services, industrial/energy, IT services, media and entertainment, medical devices and equipment, networking and equipment, retail/distribution, semiconductors, software and telecommunications. Some of their existing company investments include the Akoya, 10x Technology and the Novus Ice Systems.
