The RAIN Source Capital is a pool of funds from individual RAIN state investors that aims to leverage capital, industry experience, and angel resources to its start-ups and portfolio companies. Changing its name from Minnesota Investment Network Corporation to RAIN Source Capital is a huge leap not only in the group's investment process but also in its mission to support new and promising enterprises across America. Primarily, the Fund seeks investment opportunities from rural business ventures that are not usually served by regional angel groups, private investors, and venture capitalist firms. By pooling capital and business resources, it goes hand-in-hand with a wide range of network investors that focuses on valuable market sectors.

The Source Capital coordinates and settles an agreement with angel investors from Minnesota, Oregon, Iowa, North and South Dakota, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and other regions to create a business environment that is beneficial to both entrepreneurs and investors. At present, 16 RAIN funds are located in the states mentioned with around seven to 61 members who are managing each investment process. The Fund is comprised of over 200 accredited investors whose investment ranges from $500,000 to $2M.

Although each RAIN Fund is managed by the Source Capital, it functions independently and determines which type of industry to focus on as well as overseeing portfolio management and investment decisions. The screening process, due diligence, business development, and deal closures are likewise managed by each Fund with great support and backing from the Source Capital elite executives.

As aforementioned, the Source Capital targets the small communities and minority groups that are commercially viable and scalable like those business ventures based on large cities. Its operational model and structure works efficiently with potential start-ups as considerable options for market growth and opportunities are provided by each Fund.

In addition, SEC-accredited investors support their portfolio companies and start-ups through management guidance and providing expert advice in marketing plans, profit-generating strategies, deal sourcing, recruitment, and service development. As resources and capital are shared by its members, investments are done efficiently with minimum risks. Investors are also assured with a significant rate of return.

To date, the RAIN Source Capital has guided 40 successful companies in business today with more than $40 million worth of seed and follow-on investments.
