The National Association of Seed & Venture Funds (NASVF) is an alliance of angel investment leaders of public, private, and non-profit organizations. It started in 1993 as a small group that meets annually to discuss the best means of generating funds for technology companies in states and regions. Then in 1997, the group was formally incorporated as a non-profit organization and named as the National Association of State Venture Funds. But as the scope of services to private investment organizations and programs grew, the group decided to change its name to the National Association of Seed & Venture Funds in 2000.
The NASVF considers the annual conference as its most important program. The attendees of the annual conference are given the opportunity to form a network of connections with various organizations and share angel investment expertise and knowledge. It is also a venue for new angel organizations to learn from the experiences of the veterans in the business. The NASVF also offers training programs and seminars for its members. These educational tools are developed for the advancement and productivity of angel investment organizations. NASVF also conducts research projects to analyze the best angel investment practices in private investment organization programs, as well as programs supported by the state. Lastly, individual consultations are also available to members of the NASVF by request. Members are provided assistance in formulating investment programs and policies, and also with management operations.
Membership of the NASVF is comprised of angel investment organizations, economic and development organizations, university technology commercialization centers, technology commercialization organizations, national laboratories, and entrepreneurship centers. Organizations that have an interest in angel investment activities and practices can be a part of the NASVF as members. Membership application is done through an online registration system available on the NASVF website. A membership of $650 is required per applicant. All applications will be reviewed by the NASVF for approval and final activation of membership. Further inquiries and assistance about membership can be directed to Ms. Liz Guard. Members have the privilege of accessing exclusive information in the NASVF website that is username and password-enabled.
