Alaska InvestNet is an angel investment organization established in September of 1998 at Anchorage, Alaska. It is one of the five programs granted by the Juneau Economic Development Council. In 1999, the group realized that education is a significant factor needed for the improvement of the angel investment market in the region. So in 2000, the group primarily focused on educational programs for angel investors and business owners that answer to angel investment issues and improvement of businesses. Due to this new thrust and approach, the Alaska InvestNet was incorporated in 2001 and assumed a non-profit organizational status in 2002.
Alaska InvestNet's main goal is to spearhead the growth of emerging companies in Alaska and at the same time find high quality investment opportunities. Through the help of the group's highly qualified members, companies are provided funding, counseling, and mentoring to help them achieve market dominance. Membership to the Alaska InvestNet is open to all accredited investors, individual or organizational. Applications can be submitted by accomplishing the membership agreement and membership survey form that can be downloaded from the group's website. An annual membership fee of $100 for individuals and $500 for organizations is required. All applications are subject to the evaluation and approval of the membership committee.
Alaska InvestNet is particular to high-risk, high-return of investments on early-stage companies that can generate income and employment in Alaska. It can provide funding from $250,000 up to $750,000 to qualified companies. Companies that are interested to apply for funding should consider various points for qualification. A company should have a passionate management team that is determined to reach success, a considerable market edge that can generate huge amounts of return, a competitive market advantage through exclusive property rights, a highly innovative and unique technology, and a viable exit strategy that can produce at least ten times return of investment in an eight-year period. The nature of the company and its proposal should also be suited to the expertise and ideals of the investment group.
All applications for funding can be done through an online registration system which can be accessed through the Alaska InvestNet website. An initial review will be done by an internal committee to determine if a company qualifies for the next stage of screening. A company that will qualify to the business presentation stage will be invited to present to the entire members of the investment group. After which, member investors who are interested on the company will perform a due diligence process. A negotiation of the terms will be discussed before the final investment ensues.

A very unique feature of the Alaska InvestNet website is the "Pipeline" tab. It is where audio files about the group and angel investment in general can be accessed. The "About Us" tab, on the other hand, not only provides the contact details, but also various comprehensive information about the group. It includes important information like a fact sheet, annual report, the board and management profiles, sponsor and partner profiles, and many others.
