The group can either co-invest with other investment entities or be lead investors, provided that the nature of the company is within their field of skills and expertise. It is also important that a company has a highly viable business plan that includes all vital aspects of the business. The company should have a unique or highly innovative technology, product or service to offer, and that which will be able to gain a significant market edge. It should also have an advantage in market competition through rigid patents, property rights, and the like. The market size, on the other hand, should be able to generate significant amount of profits. The company should also provide terms and structure of investment that is efficient and appropriate to the investment group, as well as a realistic exit strategy.
Companies that are interested to apply for funding should submit a two to three-page executive summary to a member they are acquainted with or directly to the New World Angels via email. Companies that are selected on the initial screening will be invited for a ten-minute business presentation, followed by a ten-minute question and answer session on the group's regular monthly meeting. A company that can incite significant interest from the members will be further evaluated through a due diligence process. The due diligence team shall then present to the board of directors the prospective company's business proposal, as well as the terms and the investment amount to be offered for final approval.
