The Bellingham Angel Group is an angel investment group based in Bellingham, Washington. It is composed of member investors with common interest on viable investment opportunities with companies in the early stage or middle stage of development. These member investors are of vital experiences in business investments and in different fields and industries as entrepreneurs or senior executives in large corporations. They do not only provide monetary assistance to company investments but they also provide support by using their knowledge and skills in mentoring these companies to move toward success. Member investors may also assume a Board of Director role in a company to personally monitor their progress. The investment group can also provide the company an access to their wide network of significant contacts. Furthermore, they can also provide assistance with other aspects such as planning, team building or fund raising.

The Bellingham Angel Group are connected and affiliated with other angel groups and regional angel investment groups like the Washington Technology Center Angel Network. They are also a member of the organization of angel group alliance in North America which is the Angel Capital Association.

Membership to the Bellingham Angel Group is strictly invitational. Individuals who are interested to apply should be qualified investors in accordance to the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States. This means that an investor should have an individual or joint net worth of at least $1 million, an individual annual income of at least $200,000 or a joint annual income of at least $300,000. Vital experience in businesses of any field or other investment experience is also required of members. Members make use of these to help further enhance a company investments' potential for growth and success. An applicant should also be willing to invest an amount between $10,000 to $100,000 annually. Applications can be submitted either online or directly to the group. All investor applications are subject to evaluation and approval by the investment group.

Typical investments of the Bellingham Angel Group amount to $25,000 up to $250,000. This amount is enough to assist a company towards advancement to the next stage of business development. Preferably, the group invests on companies located in the Pacific Northwest region, specifically in Whatcom, Skagit, and Island Counties. The company should have a very strong and proven management team who are also open-minded about mentoring from the investors, a technologically innovative product or service that has a wide market opportunity, can provide a strategically planned exit strategy that can provide $20 to $30 million of annual revenues within five years, should have a registered patent or anything that gives a competitive edge, should have a strategical plan for market competition, a funding need that should not exceed the amount of $1.5 million and should have a pre-money valuation that does not exceed $4.5 million.

Companies interested to seek fund from the Bellingham Angel Group, should accomplish and submit an application form that is available online. Upon initial screening, the group may ask the candidate company for more details and may also be asked for a presentation of business plan to the Screening Committee. After which, the Screening Committee shall then discuss if a company is qualified to move forward to the next step. The final stage is a business presentation to the entire member investors in one of their regular group meetings. Thereafter, an investment decision shall be made either by individual member investors or a small group of member investors. The screening process period is usually within three to four weeks upon submission.
