The Boynton Angels is a Worcester-based angel group that focuses on early-stage companies and growing businesses within Central Massachusetts and nearby states. An association of accredited investors, business leaders, senior executives, and experienced entrepreneurs, the group offers seed investment to qualified ventures that provide services in life science, biotechnology, energy, consumer products, manufacturing, transportation, software applications, and telecommunications. As a technology-based angel group, the Boynton Angels is seeking investment opportunities that can easily establish their target market and meet consumer needs despite of unexpected economic and social changes. Potential start-ups should be able to present a compelling business plan that includes well-defined marketing strategies, exceptional value proposition, and data-supported financial projections. The group also values a unique, competitive advantage (patent, intellectual property, and proprietary technology) to ascertain easy market entry and create barriers against close competitors. Although private investors understand the highly illiquid nature of start-up ventures, entrepreneurs must be able to generate a significant rate of return within a five to seven-year period. The group provides seed capital up to $2M in qualified companies.

Interested applicants are requested to submit their executive summaries containing the aforementioned investment criteria through email. Shortlisted proposals will be contacted by the Screening Committee to send necessary documents and present in one of the Boynton Angels' regular assembly. From here, it will be determined whether the proposal is eligible for investment or otherwise. The efficiency of the investment process exemplifies the competency of a network that spends quality investment in thriving companies with less time wasted.

Although funding is decided individually, the entire investment process including due diligence is conducted as a group. The network is comprised of member-managed committees which oversee the operations of the organization from the selection process to deal closures and upcoming events.

At present, the network is seeking accredited investors who share its mission of developing early-stage technology companies in Central Massachusetts. Interested investors are requested to send a letter of intent in the contact information available on the group's website.

The Boynton Angels is a member of the Angel Capital Association (ACA), North America's leading organization of angel groups that promotes networking and sharing of resources to facilitate economic growth throughout the region.
