Founded in 1992, the Investors' Circle (IC) is one the foremost investment groups in the country that aims to address social, environmental, and economic issues by supporting high growth enterprises and small business funds. The group started as an angel group and after years of unrelenting support from its sponsors, IC expanded as a venture capital organization that finances early-stage companies and promising businesses more than a usual angel group can. IC's primary objective is to facilitate the growth and development of entrepreneurial companies which at the same time contribute in the upsurge of national economy. The operations of the IC Network, IC Foundation, and IC Funds are managed in San Francisco, California and Brookline, Massachusetts.

The IC Network is a group of accredited investors, high-profile venture capitalists, business leaders, industry professionals, ace entrepreneurs, family offices, foundations, and institutions that focuses on food and organics, education and media, energy and environment, community and international development, and health and wellness industries. In addition, the Network also values women-managed and minority-led companies.

The IC Foundation is active in incubating venture funds to expand its resources to business enterprises that can generate significant financial returns and resolve environmental and social issues at the same time. The Commons Capital is its pioneering mission fund with $13.5M worth of investment capital from 53 topical partners including IC members. The Fund leverages its resources to companies that focus on environmental concerns, clean energy, education, health care, and minority-led enterprises. Currently, the Foundation oversees three incubation funds committed to support agriculture and organics, charity groups, and media-related ventures.

Since its inception, IC has received more than 2400 executive summaries seeking investment and 480 of them are asked to introduce and sell their proposals in front of IC members. At present, IC has invested over $111M worth of capital in 182 companies. Almost 170 investors compose the IC Network who came from 26 states in the US and four countries across the world.

To date, the IC Network's list of portfolio companies includes Organic To Go, SJF Ventures, BioResources International, Expansion Capital Partners, Energia Global, Voxiva, Wild Planet Toys, and Dragonfly Media.

The site provides a brief overview of how its angel group started and how it was able to continue its mission of upholding business ventures that focus on environmental and social concerns. The group's affiliate programs and activities such as the IC Funds, IC Foundation, and IC Network are explained as well. For entrepreneurs who are looking for reference, essays and reports about capital-related issues, investment tips, and business articles are at their convenience.

It is apparent that the Investors' Circle updates its site very often. Upcoming events, venture fairs, and regular activities are posted on the site as well as affiliate events sponsored or managed by the group.

The investment process and funding criteria are simplified through a graph that shows the industries that the group has supported in the past fifteen years. Potential start-ups are given a summary of how an application is processed and what type of investments are considered.
