The Vegas Valley Angels is an angel investment organization established on March 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Through the initiative of the Technology Business Alliance of Nevada, four entrepreneurs in Las Vegas realized a need for an organization that will make quality investments on early and middle-stage companies in Southern Nevada. Thus, Mike Ballard, Mark Brennan, Scott Frost, and David LeGrand founded the Vegas Valley Angels. Since its inception, the group had accumulated fifty members and accomplished a total investment amounting to $8 million in twelve companies. It is also one of the seven prime angel groups from California, Utah, and Nevada that constitutes an alliance of angel groups in the western region.

Members of the Vegas Valley Angels come from a wide range of expertise and experience as executive officers, investment bankers, venture capitalists, and successful entrepreneurs that have established outstanding companies. These members embody an investment organization that is highly credible in providing companies with proper guidance in business planning, fund raising, and team building. Members also share significant contacts and serve as a board member to the companies they invest in. Individuals that are interested in becoming a member of the Vegas Valley Angels should be sponsored by a current member. Membership is open to accredited investors that make $50,000 worth of total investments within two years. It is also part of a member's responsibility to make his/her individual decision on any particular investment.

The Vegas Valley Angels can provide companies between $100,000 to $1 million worth of funding. The group prefers companies based, or at least maintains operation, in Southern Nevada. The group invests in early-stage companies of any nature, provided that they can provide at least $30 million worth of annual revenues within five years, have company pre-money valuations not more than $4 million, have excellent management teams that are relevantly experienced, and have existing and exclusive business models, products, or services protected by property rights that can create significant market edge.

Applications can be submitted through an online registration system. A minimum fee of $100 is charged for every application and an additional $100 is required from every company that is qualified for a business presentation. A company that passes through the initial stage of screening will be invited for a 30-minute presentation to the screening committee and a 15-minute panel discussion. If a company arouses the interests of the panel, it will be invited for a formal business presentation to the entire group. After the final business presentation comes the due diligence process which will be conducted by the members themselves. Individual investment decisions of the members will be made after the conclusion of the due diligence process.

The Vegas Valley Angels website is simple but informative. The homepage provides a condensed background about the investment group, as well as shortcut links to the "Entrepreneurs" and "Angel Investors" tabs. Upcoming events of the group are posted on the upper-right hand corner of the homepage. For a more extensive background information about the Vegas Valley Angels, the website provides an "About Us" tab. It shows an overview of the organization and a list of its board of trustees. Profiles of the companies the group invested on are also featured on a page. A brief summary of each company's nature can be viewed and websites can be accessed through a provided link. Press releases about the group may be viewed by clicking links on the "Press Releases" page.

The Vegas Valley Angels website has a resources tab, where links to various websites of business organizations can be accessed. These websites can be very useful to investors and entrepreneurs alike. Those who are interested to apply for membership to the group can browse the "Angel Investors" tab for the necessary details. On the other hand, those that are interested to apply for funding can access the "Entrepreneurs" tab for the investment criteria and application process details. Applications for funding are facilitated through an online registration system powered by AngelSoft.net. Additional information about angel investment are also included in the website. This will be beneficial to those who are not yet familiar with the nature of angel investment.
