The National Angel Organization is an association of angel investment organizations in Canada. It was incorporated in 2002 as a non-profit organization that supports angel investment activities and provides investors an environment to connect with one another and share quality investment practices.

The National Angel Organization advocates a dynamic angel investment atmosphere in Canada by developing support programs. Through education and mentor programs for angel investors, the chance of success in businesses in the region becomes higher. The organization's goal to increase the number of quality and successful investments in Canada is achieved through its network of angel investors, which provide start-up companies a wide array of funding sources. It also formulates networking methods to acquire valuable partnerships with private and public sectors. These partnerships provide angel investors and entrepreneurs the necessary connections. Member investors are also able to voice out their concerns in national issues as a unified body through the National Angel Organization. The group actively works with the government in formulating public policies that agree with angel investors and the economic environment in Canada. It also conducts and participates in research studies to further enhance the angel investment operations in Canada.

There are about 1,500 angel investor members of the National Angel Organization throughout Canada today. These members are qualified accredited investors who are either an individual private investor or a manager of an angel investment group. Membership is divided into three categories such as general, affiliate, and founding members. Those who are not accredited investors comprise the group of supporting members. These are individuals who are interested in angel investment business and supports its proliferation. Interested parties can register for membership through an online registration system that can be accessed through the National Angel Organization website. All applications are still subject for review and approval.

National Angel Organization Website

The home page of the National Angel Organization website features the organization's sponsors through a random flash of logos, which can be clicked to access each of their own websites. It also features a web feed of interesting information and dialogues from the World Wide Web. This web feed can be completely accessed through one of the pages in the website. The home page also features the 2007 Angel Investor Summit which will be hosted by the National Angel Organization. A log-in facility for members is also available. By providing a user name and password, the members can access exclusive content on the website. Membership applicants can also use the same facility for registration. The home page also includes a brief background on the National Angel Organization.

For more extensive information and specific details about the National Angel Organization, the "About Us" tab in the website provides the overview, history, board of directors and staff profiles, and sponsors of the organization. The impact of the organization and angel investment in general throughout Canada is also explained in a page. The contact information is also included and provides an office address, email address, fax, and phone numbers. A tab in the website also gives the membership application details, benefits, and resources, as well as the online registration for application. Another tab provides comprehensive information about the organization's initiatives. It is divided into various pages that discusses public policy, education, partnerships, programs, and research initiatives. Support documents and sample lobby letters for the Innovation and Productivity Tax Credit (IPTC) and public policy reports can also be downloaded.

The National Angel Organization website has a resources tab that includes a directory of angel investment organizations in Canada and angel investor reports that can be downloaded in the PDF format. The current and past news about the National Angel Organization can also be accessed on the website. A separate tab for recent and past events is also included.
