Although angel investment activities are already predominant in Europe way back in 1996, it was only in 1999 that the European Business Angel Network was created. It is a non-profit organization established by the European Association of Development Agencies in cooperation with the European Commission. Its goal is to propagate the advancement of the angel investment industry throughout Europe. The European Business Angel Network is a venue for its members to learn from each other and advocate the best investment practices. It also supports the angel investment activities by providing assistance through various programs for the local, regional, and nationwide scope. The European Angel Network is a privileged partner of the Angel Capital Association, the leading angel investment group alliance in North America.
The full members of the European Angel Network cover a vast expanse of organizations such as international angel investment organizations; local, regional, and national angel groups; and angel organizations from other countries. There are also associate members composed of organizations and individuals that are interested to be involved in promoting investment activities in Europe. Currently, there are about fifty national and regional network members. These members are entitled to many benefits from the European Angel Network. Those who are interested to become members should fill-out a membership application form and questionnaire which can be downloaded from the European Angel Network website. Submission of applications and other inquiries can be forwarded to Ms. Claire Munck through telephone, fax, or electronic mail. All kinds of membership application has a corresponding fee.
Members have a privilege to form various connections through the network's regular dialogue with the European Commission. They also have the opportunity to be updated with angel investment activities in Europe. Member organizations are accessible through their visibility in the European investment scene from being part of the European Angel Network. Members also benefit from numerous projects and events initiated by the network, as well as from research studies and newsletters. The European Angel Network holds annual events such as an awareness congress, technical events, and ad hoc meetings. It also has different publications that deal with various aspects of angel investment around Europe and throughout the world. A monthly publication called the EBAN Flash provides the network members recent news and events in the national and international angel investment business. The EBAN Info, on the other hand, is released twice a year as a review about the current membership of the European Angel Network and the recent trends in angel investment. The network also releases a Statistics Compendium to record the investment activities and transactions accomplished in Europe every year. A compilation of contact profiles of investment leaders and experts called the Yellow Book is also available.

The European Business Angel Network website has a very formal theme. and presents various information about the organization. A lot will already be learned by viewing just the home page. It gives a short description about the European Angel Network and its activities. Current and previous news about the organization can already be accessed from the home page itself. You can also subscribe to the monthly newsletters by submitting your name and email address through an online registration system on the upper right-hand corner of the page. Logos of various companies are also featured on the page. The websites of these partner and sponsor companies can also be accessed by clicking on each of their logos. Moreover, the home page is currently featuring the European Angel Network's annual event, which is the 7th EBAN Congress.
Significant information about the European Angel Network are also available on the website. The documentation reports of activities can also be downloaded from the site. The website also includes details such as the organization's mission statement and a list of the management members and board representatives from the different member organizations. To know the angel organization members of the network within and outside Europe, a list and website links are also provided in the website. Those who are interested to become members can download the application for membership form and questionnaire from the website. It is available in the English and French language.
The European Angel Network has numerous programs that are available on the website. Its publications and corresponding descriptions, position papers, research studies, and working documents can be viewed and downloaded. The documentation and minutes of presentations and discussions are also available.
