The Angel Capital Education Foundation is a non-profit organization born out of the 2002 and 2003 Angel Organization Summits attended by about 120 angel investment organizations. As a result of this summit, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation initiated a program in 2004 and 2005 to support angel groups through education and research. This program became the basis of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and various angel organization leaders in the United States and Canada for the establishment of the Angel Capital Education Foundation in September of 2005.

The Angel Capital Education Foundation was originally a part of the programs offered by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and has become independent in March 2007 when the Internal Revenue Service approved its application for tax exemption as a charitable organization. Although it is already independent, it is still supported by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in its endeavors. The Angel Capital Education Foundation also acts as a complementary organization to the Angel Capital Association with both working for the propagation of angel investment in North America. It is managed by a board of directors composed of angel investment organization leaders.

There are various programs offered by the Angel Capital Education Foundation like an annual summit, regional meetings, seminars and workshops, and research. The annual summit is a two-day event for angel investors and other interested parties in North America. Attendees will have the privilege to listen to key speakers about angel investment, participate in numerous discussions, and many other activities. It is also a venue for fellow angel investors to interact with one another and forge connections. Regional meetings, on the other hand, are held depending on the needs of a particular region. It can be held monthly, quarterly, or annually. It is a chance for angel groups to collaborate about investment-related activities.

Angel Capital Education Foundation also provides seminars and workshops for angel investment organizations and other interested groups who seek in-depth and efficient knowledge about investment. These are usually developed by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and are more popularly known as the Power of Angel Investing Seminars and Workshops. Research and data analysis is also one of the strengths of the Angel Capital Education Foundation. This program monitors the investment trends and practices, the success of angel investment across North America, and various angel investment aspects.

The Angel Capital Education Foundation, in cooperation with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and prime leaders of angel groups, has also developed various information and publication tools available in digital and print files. This include a newsletter and other angel investment related documents.

Extensive information about the educational programs that the foundation offers are also included.
