    Angel Investor Group Profile
CTEK Angels FundingPost Venture Capital and Angel Investor Network
The CTEK Angels is an angel investment group established in January of 2002 at Denver, Colorado. It is considered to be the largest angel investment group in the Rocky Mountain region. It is managed by CTEK, a non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate economic development in the local area through providing entrepreneurs an access to various resources that will help them to achieve growth. These resources are made available through the various programs that CTEK has created to carry out its mission. Part of these programs is the angel investment group that came to be known as the CTEK Angels. CTEK derived its name from the four major points that its programs focus on, they are Capital, Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge.

CTEK Angels membership is composed of diversely experienced accredited investors who are either entrepreneurs or business executives. The success and expertise of the members in various industries makes the CTEK Angels a highly qualified investment group. Since it was founded, a total of twenty-five investment deals in twenty companies have already been made. The amount of investment that the group provides is usually between $100,000 to $1 million. CTEK Angels primarily looks for companies that are highly innovative, capable of high growth, and located in Colorado. Companies should also have a management team that is determined to succeed, a formulated business and financial plan, and a realistic exit strategy. The investment group funds companies of any nature, product or service except those that deal with real estate, reselling, retailing, film, and consultancy businesses.

Applicants for funding should first fill out a request for funding application form that should be submitted directly to CTEK Angels. Applications are initially reviewed for qualification to the deal screen stage. A minimum fee of $250 will be charged to companies that qualify. A CTEK Venture Center Executive Director will review a company's business presentation prior to the actual deal screening. The company will be given eight minutes for business presentation and another eight minutes for a question and answer portion. After the presentation, the deal screening committee will decide if the company is qualified to the next stage. If the company qualifies for the CTEK Angels presentation stage, it will be charged a $500 meeting fee. In preparation for the presentation, a CTEK Venture Center Executive Director will review the feedbacks from the deal screening stage. The duration of business presentation will again be for eight minutes, followed by another eight minutes of question and answer. After the last stage of screening, final investment decisions will be made individually by the members.

    CTEK Angels Website

CTEK has various programs to enhance the entrepreneurs' capabilities to achieve success. One of these programs is the CTEK Angels. To learn more about the investment group, a link that leads to a page that contains background details can be accessed. The CTEK Angels page contains two links that lead to a page for entrepreneurs and for investors. The page for entrepreneurs provides a very detailed process of funding application. The first stage contains the application submission and requirement details. Then the second stage enumerates the step-by-step process of the deal screening. The criteria for deal screening can be viewed by clicking a particular link on the page. For tips on giving an effective business presentation, another link is provided on the page that contains this information. The process involved in the business presentation stage is also explained on the page. To know about the success fees that the CTEK Angels require on companies, an explanation can be viewed by clicking on another link on the page.

CTEK Angels is always looking for prospective members who will take part in making quality investments on promising businesses in Colorado. Those who are interested to apply as members can contact the program director of the CTEK Angels for application requirements and other inquiries. The contact details can be found in a tab on the CTEK main website. A link to a map is also provided for driving directions. Those who are interested on other entrepreneurial support programs and events of CTEK can find extensive information on the main website. They can also directly contact the coordinator of the specific program of interest. All contact details of program directors and coordinators are included in the website.
