    Angel Investor Group Profile
Eastern North Carolina Investor Network FundingPost Venture Capital and Angel Investor Network
East Carolina University formulated the Entrepreneurial Initiatives (EI) in 2005 to advocate entrepreneurship in the academic community and in the eastern region of North Carolina. The Entrepreneurial Initiatives aims to develop public and private organizational connections within the region to provide the university an assistance in company development and product marketing, as well as to incite business innovations in the North Carolina eastern area. It is also intended to provide the students of the East Carolina University vital experience in the field of business. As part of the Entrepreneurial Initiatives' responsibilities, it handles the management and activities of the Eastern North Carolina-Investor Network.

The Eastern North Carolina-Investor Network is an organization of accredited investors who provide funding to early-stage companies. Since the East Carolina University Venture Forum was first held in January of 2002, the investment group also started to hold its own meetings. Then in May of 2005, the meetings became a regular monthly event where two business presentations are held. A total of over $8 million worth of investments connected with the Eastern North Carolina-Investor Network have been approved since 2002. Accredited investors that are interested to attend the group's meetings to hear quality investment opportunities should contact the Director of East Carolina University's Entrepreneurial Initiatives, Ms. Marty E. Hackney, either through phone or electronic mail.

Companies that are interested to apply for funding from the Eastern North Carolina-Investor Network should also contact Ms. Marty E. Hackney first before submitting the necessary requirements. After which, funding applicants can submit an executive summary, business plan, and a slide presentation that includes a return of investment projection through electronic or postal mail. If a company passes the initial qualification process, a capital rate chart should be submitted. A meeting with the investors is also required for further discussions and evaluation. This would determine if the company will qualify for the last stage of screening, which is the business presentation. A month before the business presentation, the company should submit a complete executive summary and term sheet. Final investment decisions will be made by the individual member investors after the business presentation.

Eastern North Carolina - Investor Network Website

The Eastern North Carolina-Investor Network website is actually composed of web pages located within the East Carolina University website. Under the regional development services section of the East Carolina University website is the Entrepreneurial Initiative website where the pages about the Eastern North Carolina-Investor Network is included. The investment group is a project created by the East Carolina University to support the promulgation of entrepreneurship in the university and the eastern North Carolina which in effect fuels regional economic advancement. Although there are only a few pages allotted to the investment group in the East Carolina University website, it is sufficient enough to answer major concerns about investment.

The Eastern North Carolina-Investor Network page provides a summary of the investment group's history. Added information about the group is also included in the Entrepreneurial Initiative home page. The investment group's page also gives an idea about how a typical business presentation meeting takes place. The schedule of meetings is also posted on the same page. Those who are interested to participate in the group's meetings can contact the Director of East Carolina University Entrepreneurial Initiative through the telephone number and email address indicated on the page. There is also a link that connects to another page that shows the qualifications of an accredited investor according to SEC. For further information about SEC accredited investor qualifications, a link to the SEC website is also available. The Eastern North Carolina-Investor Network page provides another link that leads to a page that contains the funding application details such as the qualifications, the document requirements, and the stages of application evaluation. Applications can be also be submitted to the Director of East Carolina University Entrepreneurial Initiative through the contact details provided.
