The Arizona Angels Investor Network was founded by Chris Augur and Rick Marshall in 1999 at Scottsdale, Arizona. It is an angel investment group of accredited investors whose common interest lie on investment opportunities from companies that are in the early or later stage of development. There are about a hundred individual and institutional members of the group who have a total of about $3.5 million worth of investments in six companies namely, Advantiv, Inc., ImaRx Therapeutics, Inc., imortgage.com, myGeek.com, NetWARD Software, Inc., and TouchScape Corporation.

The Arizona Angels Investor Network prefers to invest on companies located in the local region. For purposes of monitoring and providing guidance to companies they invest on, the group focuses more on Arizona-based investment opportunities. Investments usually range from $500,000 to $1.5 million depending on the company's needs. The group also co-invests with other investors, angel groups, or venture capital firms. The Network typically invests on companies that have significant growth potential in the early stage of development. The investments of the group are usually on technology although it is not a requirement to qualify for funding. Any company that is interested to apply should have a management team that is experienced and professional. The product or service it offers should also have a significant and growing market that can potentially generate high amount of profits. The company should be able to address the needs of the market, as well as have an edge over its competition. If approved for funding, a company should be open to work with an investor from the investment group as a member of its board of directors.

A company that is qualified for the Arizona Angels Investor Network funding may submit an executive summary via electronic mail. Upon initial review, a company may either qualify for a business presentation to the investment group or have the opportunity to have its business plan stored in the group's database to make it available for viewing of all members. A company that qualified for a formal business presentation may be invited by interested for meetings for further review. Thereafter, the negotiation of the investment terms will be discussed by both parties, followed by a due diligence process and the legal documentation.

The Arizona Angels Investor Network website provides a very extensive history and background of the investment group in the home page and the "About Us" page. Entrepreneurs are also provided a page where they can find comprehensive details about investment application. The benefits of applying for funding from the group are also explained in the page together with a list of qualifications for investment. There is also an FAQ page where the process of funding application is included along with other important information. Companies that are interested to apply for funding are required to submit an executive summary directly through the group's email. An investors page is also available in the website. It is where the benefits of membership are enumerated and explained. With its own FAQ page, the investors page enumerates the process and requirements for membership. Individuals who are interested to become members can send an email to the group.

The Arizona Angels Investor Network website also has a co-investors page, where the co-investment process and details are explained. The professionals page, on the other hand, is for individuals who are not accredited investors but are interested to assist in investment activities. For current and past news about the investment group, a page in the website provides links to news articles. There is also a resource page that is currently under construction. A log-in page is included for the members to gain access to a database of prospective company profiles. Members need to log in using a username and password. To get in touch with the group, a contact page is available where a phone number, a postal address, and email addresses are provided.
